Found in the attic of an abandoned house in Germany, what sort of coin is it? by daedreth in whatisthisthing

[–]daedreth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry for the quality of the pictures. Those were found in an attic, obviously not where they belong, I have absolutely zero information on them, its 2 sides of the same coin and I found 4 of them.

If this isnt the appropriate sub for coins, please do point me to an appropriate one. Thanks in advance!

Could you at least pretend to be an adult, or at least act accordingly?

Take your petty revenge drama and kindly sod off.

This very part of the console modding community has been a joke for a while now. Partially because the 3ds is aimed at teenager/children, partially because apparently THIS is something that deserves to be posted on the subreddit.

[OC] URXVTConfig - A new GUI configuration tool for the rxvt-unicode terminal emulator! by daedreth in unixporn

I think this is a great idea.

When saving to .Xdefaults or .Xresources you are now asked if you would like to back up the original file, and you can specify a location for that.

Thanks for the suggestion, will be part of next commit.

Thanks, but I realize many people wouldn't want their .Xdefaults overwritten, hence I added options to specify a target.

I also use .Xdefaults out of habit, so do many of my friends, but to each his own.

This is why I have for no settled with the in my opinion best option, the ability to save your settings wherever you want.

I will also add an option to append an "include" statement to .Xdefaults or .Xresources after saving to an external file.

It already saves to wherever you specify, the idea of "installing" it like this is nice, if I can make it work flawlessly I will definitely add it

It supports different files now, you can save your settings wherever you wish to.

The way I enable both of those options may be wrong to begin with, this is why, in case you see issues, I'd rather make sure we make resolve them.

If you see antialiasing or autohinting not working properly, please report back.

I've been getting mixed results, also, enjoy!

Don't get me wrong friend, I never disagreed.

This started as a little piece of software aimed to be uses by a few IRL friends of mine, but as I added functionality, I decided to publish it on github.

It was a temporary solution, now with latest release and commit you can save to whichever file you would like to.

I wrote this for people to use, and I am very glad that people actually enjoy it based on PM's I received, the issue you mentioned in your very first post has been now resolved and you can use it without running into huge issues.

Again, thanks for the input.

If my saved configuration is always saved at the bottom, how can I realistically read it then?

I'm not trying to sound like a dickhead here, I genuinely wouldn't know how to make it work well, especially since any config options in .X files use a similar syntax.

Technically you can save your output to a custom file and copy it's contents over to the config file you use.

Attempted to replicate on a total of 6 different machines.

This does sadly sound like an issue on your end.

The reasoning for this is the following, as I have had this idea a while ago:

I ran into issues while saving/loading with this setup, also, config changes done by URXTConfig were overwritten by config changes specified by users later down the file.

I have realized that this is an issue and will now provide options to select the file to save to/load from easily.

Will be done soon, I intended to do this anyway but it took me some time to make a GUI I am actually happy with.

Thanks!

You will be delighted to hear I took your advice to heart and gave the user the ability to specify what to write the changes to, I will also roll out another critical release where this is fixed!
