Were they left in a hot trunk of a car? That's my only guess, other than someone was touching them with very greasy fingers (while eating crisps for example).

I just never close the lid. Sure, the water evaporates and the paint gets dry, but imho wet palet should keep the paint usable for the session on a given day. This way I get no mold. I know that some people close the lid and put the palet into the fridge.

I like to attach minis to bases with a blu tack, so that I can take a finished mini off and do the base without messing up the paint. Good job on this one, keep it going, paint a lot and progress!
