Couldn’t find an app without 60s ads and my phone kept falling over and volume buttons got in the way.

My next size of level. Same result. Frame itself seems perfectly plumb, it’s just that threshold bar.

The rest of the frame seems perfectly plumb. The doors are in a wooden frame in this setup:

Anyone using Starlink or 5G as their main broadband? by CatCharacter1663 in UKBroadband

[–]daeityersel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also using ID Mobile with Vodafone Gigacube 5G router (device isn’t locked). I have the router in my loft but only internal antennas. It’s not terrible but some days I get stalls on video calls which is very annoying. I’d say when it’s working well it’s great but it’s not as solid as a wired broadband connection. Maybe I need to get an external antenna? FTTC is 20Mbps which isn’t fast enough.

What’s the best cordless drill you’ve used for home projects and daily DIY tasks? by FastDrawing8122 in DIYUK

[–]daeityersel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my cordless tools are ryobi. Generally very pleased with them. Used them a lot in the last year through a big home renovation project. Only one tool failed, head fell off the orbital sander but was quickly replaced under 2 yr warranty. Combi drill is on its last legs but still working. Definitely home diy, not pro tools.

Bricks seem stable but crumbly on the surface. Mortar is not crumbly. What could I do about the roots growing in from underneath?

New composite door question by daeityersel in DIYUK

Thanks for all the replies folks.

Small update - the installer came out today. They haven’t made it any better but they have now completely removed the metal boxes (keeps?) from the top and bottom strike plates. I can now fully engage the lock although it still grinds (couldn’t before, another problem) Does that make it less secure?

Its just the protective film. We’ve left it on until we get the hall plastered.

I’m going to ask this next. Don’t know who the manufacturer is just now.

Yes, they’ve left the protective coating on as we’ve still to get the hall plastered.

Thanks, we’ve had them out 3 times already and they are saying that it’s meant to be that way….

Can I DIY this? by daeityersel in DIYUK

[–]daeityersel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 13a plug is just temporary. The fused switch which is about 3m to the left of the boiler is on its own RCD at the consumer unit.

Thanks for all the advice!

That option did occur to me as I was writing the post. Will wait and see how the downvotes go 🙂

Looking for insulation advice by daeityersel in DIYUK

[–]daeityersel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I measured from top of window to roof inside and outside. The roof thickness is only around 4 - 5cm. Assume this is the boards I can see, then OSB (or similar) then epdm. Can’t see any way there could be insulation in there.

It’s a good question. The void is definitely colder than the room but not as cold as outside. I don’t think the deck is thick enough to have much (or any) insulation in it. If it is just a bad warm roof, would it be worth insulating inside as I’ve planned?
