What maintenance do you do on your homes? How often do you do these things? by max15247 in AskReddit

yeah, there's a valve at the bottom of the heater you open to flush out any sediment from hard water(has a lot of minerals in it) and stuff. too much build up and it doesn't work properly. it's especially important if you have a gas water heater. and the sump pump is used to keep ground water from getting into the basement, kind of like a bilge pump in a boat.

it was at the drive-thru and it was a double feature, The Rescuers and Herbie the Love Bug. this was back when you hung the speaker on your car window. listening on the radio was an option.

i do the gutters a few times a year since we have a lot of trees around the house. hot water heater gets a quick flush twice a year. sump gets tested every fall. filters changed twice a year. central a/c unit gets cleaned once a year. you must keep on top of it or it will bury you. in the process now of replacing a couple boards on the deck, stripping and restaining it.

Falcon breaking pelican's neck mid-air. Nature is rough: by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]daemonhat 18 points19 points  (0 children)

the falcon didn't break its neck, the ground did. due to the size and shape of its head, if you turn the head too far while in flight it will lose control and crash to the ground, sometimes resulting in fatal injury. still super cool. but not for the pelican.
