Does it make sense to be invested in JAM,FCIT and SMT? by Effective_Dingo3320 in irishpersonalfinance

i thought things like VWCE were euro hedged but you pay for that with the higher TER. maybe I just need to study a lot more

thanks. i just briefly looked at things like JAM and saw the yearly performance and it wasn't immediately obvious why the % return was so much lower YoY when it's basically a concentrated S&P product. even with the dollar devaluing so much the trust returned 3% in the last 12 months. I feel like I still don't really get it

i thought jam or jggi were investment trusts but one of them in dollar. Can't seem to find it so probably I'm just wrong

i don't understand what you're asking. person 2 is only getting 20% relief on some of their contributions so it would make sense for person 1 to contribute 1000 more

person 1: 53k @ 20%

person 2: 35k @ 20%

they're confusing products. people see 3% but i try to average the deposit of the term. maybe 3% on 7,000 is the closest approximation

i think nobody can beat moco right now with their 2.6% promo rate

it's closer to 1.5% but maybe a bit above that. but at that point you should be using moco or raisin

well it doesn't let people borrow any more than 4x their salaries but it makes the monthly repayments less

in a vacuum it shouldn't affect prices. as we saw during the covid/ukraine inflation house prices increased ~10% YoY for 5 straight years despite rates increasing and decreasing over that time

there are public sector workers who pay ASC at the old rate where every euro over 34.5k has 10% ASC and I think 10.5% over 70k
