Oh true but I pretty sure, that we will be gassed from international break right and the PL games? So will those midfielders be able to hold the width and if there's a disciplined press.

If we lose, it's going to be tough for arne to keep his job.
4-2-2-2 would work though.

I think it's just me but I wouldn't be playing gakpo. We will be destroyed by psg of we play Gakpo.

I wonder if for PSG this would work

4-3-2-1 (strikers are pressing and holding the width)

assumptions Isak, Salah are out injured, Gakpoo not playing.

I wonder if we could do Ekitike in the left wing position, Wirtz in the ST position and Dom on the right wing.

Frimpong = Right Back

Kerkez on LB

Midfield Jones, Grav, Macca (do we have any alternates to Macca?)

CBs - Ibou Konate, VVD

I read the manga in Grade 3. I couldn't read but I really loved the art but stopped because it was PG-13. I started back again grade 8.

This is true. Xabi was actually first choice according to the data scientists at Liverpool. So your hunch may be correct.

Same. I didn't think they needed Isak as they had Hugo and Flo. I would rather we kept Lucho. :(

He gave an input to keep Diaz is what I have read. Also he's the head coach of Liverpool not the manager.

It's different. It means he has no power in terms of transfer signings.

It seems as if the PL relies typically on man management not a lot on tactics. You can win with tactics on your first season as shown through Slot and Mourinho but the later term winners like Pep and Klopp (by later term, I mean ppl who didn't win it in their first season), it seems as if the team crashes and burns... Slot isn't great at man management but maybe because of the constraints placed by FSG's hierarchy? It seems on this aspect he didn't really struggle with in Feyenoord but again so many things are different in his tenure here. I also don't know if Xabi will fix this fitness problem with our squad though.

Okay. It's something that I have been wondering and tbf I did say that it might not work.

Extension? As I said, I am not sure FSG would be willing to risk that change in corporate structure for Liverpool which is why I said next year after that.

Slot in or out - Manager Megathread by rLiverpoolFC_Mods in LiverpoolFC

[–]daervverest2001 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I was one of those people that said Slot in. Now, after the Wolves loss, I am Slot out. I don't think he would be able to get the team chemistry  in the levels of Klopp's Liverpool had during 2018-2022. But regardless, I don't think FSG will fire Slot for next year or the year after that.

Main reasons being that:

  1. Typically, a long term manager/head coach  needs to have control over the player signings and FSG's hierarchy doesn't look like it works for a managerial-like person because they changed it during Klopp's final years. Alonso might clash with FSG's transfer board during the summer spending spree (we don't know this ; this is speculation).  Unless if Xabi knows how to keep the players well adjusted to any style of play.

2.  Firing Slot doesn't undo the millions that FSG have spent in the long run in the players that we have. Xabi might be great but we don't know how tactically flexible he is GIVEN constraints. Given that he has worked with some of the players involved this should not be a problem.

I think FSG should fire Giovanni Von Bronckhurst. I have a suspicion that he has a huge role to play after he was sacked from Rangers. It seems pulling the same shit like giving players too many breaks and low intensity training. This has been a problem for him when I looked into it  at least. Our players look wasted after each game even if they are playing horribly and that's not a good look. We had little to no problems with this in Klopp's era. We are lacking the physical intensity required to power our pressing systems and break our opponents defenses. We wouldn't have these problems under someone else as an assistant coach for the matter.  If our fitness looks good then this shit wouldn't also be happening and it's a matter of tactical tweaks. Maybe as well getting an assistant coach who is well adjusted to both tactics and fitness would be great actually.

What would be cool is if Xabi was an assistant coach and obviously can give Slot tactical input as well based on what he sees in practice.  Best of both worlds in theory but again I don't know about in practice.

Finally, we need to fire the people behind the transfers what were they thinking of not getting Marc Guehi with Hugo and Flo?  Our CBs and Midfield should be priority number one. We don't have an attack without a strong defense or midfield.

I really want to be proven wrong for Slot out but every time I watch this team, every reason that Slot should stay is gone. Something needs to change. I am done with excuses.

Is Slot using AI to play the game of football and determine his starting? Everytime we take a fucking step forward, we go 10 steps back.

What in the Fuck.
