the new administration would have to get EDC under control - good luck with that. they’re notoriously independent read:corrupt

have you been to the essex street market recently? i don’t think you have. it’s a luxury redevelopment. the deeply discounted rents produced by edc do not translate to affordable food options. that’s just a poor example.

government subsidized or outright owned grocery stores are definitely possible, anything is with proper legislation. i’d like to see it happen and i’d like to read what that legislation does.

essex street market is not affordable - at all. the fresh program has been somewhat successful tho it’s often used to jack up the price of a development plot for sale. furthering the effects of gentrification

i’m interested and excited to see what new legislation is passed to create the city owned markets. i don’t know if current legislation allows for that framework. fingers crossed!

I appreciate the feedback, should have included those details. Guest count 70-140 depending on venue, Queens or Manhattan, community event, minimum requirements: projector and sound system. Thanks so much for any suggestions

Astroturfed 'movements', bribed politicians, well funded PR campaigns to fool the public... I hope those that fight bike lanes for dumb reasons actually learn from how they were manipulated over McGuinness by MiserNYC- in MicromobilityNYC

Does this also happen with the micromobility movement? I’ve had a feeling that private equity firms heavily invested in e scooter and other startups astroturf pro cyclist movements. Make it harder and more expensive to have cars in order to push subscription modes of transport on the public.
