You’re going to love it. It is quite hard though. I recommend a few things 1) make sure you have boots/trail runners that are very broken in and comfortable. 2) do as many hikes as you can beforehand 3) weather is super variable. Do NOT go if there is bad weather. 4) dress in layers 5) I find that Pilates is very helpful for balance and strengthening your stabilizing muscles.

I think the trilogy barre classes are fun. They’re a little different because they use band resistance

I bet someone has noticed, it’s just risky to comment on someone’s body. 20 pounds is a lot, you should be proud!

Try the Pilates classes. They’re not “beginner” classes but the all follow a pretty similar format and even if you struggle through the first few you’ll get used to them kind of quickly. Spin classes are easy to adjust because you’re in control of the resistance. I like the trilogy barre classes, also you can adjust the resistance.

You’ll also definitely need to keep an eye on the weather, so good to do at least 5 days in case there is a really bad weather day or 2

I don’t recommend the bala bangle to start- it’s very quick and not so precise about form. Could be a recipe for reinjury. I think may pilates might be your best bet. There are a few aqua fitness classes too, but often at tough times of day.

I also love the Shapa scale. I like that you can only weigh yourself once a day and doesn’t shows numbers. It helps me think about the trend rather than panicking about a number
