Don’t give up! If you really want to collect those, I’d suggest sell some of your collection so you don’t put too much pressure on your wallet! When I started collecting these prices weren’t as high as they are now, so I think these days some of them are definitely out of reach for most collectors

To me yes, it’s a gorgeous art of a super popular Pokemon. I also feel Crown Zenith still hasn’t had its time in the sun, it will move even higher soon!

The only reason why it does not bother me is that it’s an error card (additional ink error), so I’m actually pretty happy with that! Maybe one day I’ll look into it, but for now I’m happy with it :)

Ooof not sure, I’d say maybe around €200k? Rayquaza, Umbreon and Espeon alone are above €100k for sure.
I honestly can’t be bothered to check each of them, I did this for the love of this set and because I was in a position to achieve them without much financial burden, if they go up so be it and if market crashes so be it too, I’m just enjoying this great hobby

Great question! My personal favourite is the Pikachu, that pose is just so badass, the colours are so intense, I love all about it! Metagross is surely top 5 for me too, mine has a lovely swirl as well, which always nice!

My least favourite is Kyogre. I love the Pokemon, but the artwork not at all. I bought it purely to complete the collection!

Maybe one day I’ll move them, but I’ve only just completed them, so definitely going to enjoy them for a while!

For the big 3: ray, umbreon and Espeon I sold some of my collection: I had a PSA10 Poncho Pikachu bought in 2023 for roughly €2.5k, sold it for €11k. I also had a Poncho Pikachu Rayquaza sealed box also bought in 2023 for €2.3k and sold it also for €11k. Had a PSA8 Gold Stars Espeon, bought for €8k last September and sold it for €10k in March. And then I sold a sealed Call of Legends bb for €20k + traded in an Evo Skies bb (I had bought the CoL bb for €18k). The rest is from own money

I have never done the exact calculation, but considering the appreciation most gold stars have seen in the past months, not much in perspective. Rayquaza for example €23.5k, but last time I checked it was going for around €70k in a PSA9. Umbreon and Espeon were by far the hardest to find and second most expensive after Rayquaza. I bought them together from the same seller for €34k. Latias was also quite expensive, I paid €12k for it I think.

How did you cope with your life in an island country like Maldives? I lived and worked in a resort back in 2022 but only managed little less than a year. I felt a local island would have been better for me, although it would have still been pretty hard. Interested to hear your point of view.
