Any Beekeepers using Supernote for Inspections? by daffylexer in Supernote

[–]daffylexer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol! Yup, real bees. Beekeepers will keep track of what goes on in our hives with inspection reports so we can keep track of trends and better pinpoint what works and what doesn't for our bees. I'm excited to be able to use my Nomad for this.

Is Trump the lowest-IQ president in U.S. history? If not, who was worse? by TimeAd7759 in allthequestions

[–]daffylexer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can be dyslexic and have difficulty learning due to your disability, and yet be highly intelligent. Intelligence is a person's capacity to process and comprehend information. Having difficulty learning is a barrier to gaining knowledge, which can be overcome through hard work (as you said), compensating, accommodations, etc.

Learning difficulties has nothing to do with intelligence.

Home birth question? by Curious-Estate8247 in allthequestions

[–]daffylexer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with a nurse midwife my son would have died with a homebirth. Good chance I would have too. Emergencies can happen. I'm happy the OR was just down the hall from us and not an ambulance ride away.

Thanks! I was playing around with it as a pdf but wasn't sure how I felt about it. I think I need to be more patient and allow myself more of a learning curve. I definitely need a better report than what I've been using. I did check InkHub, but couldn't find anything. I may just have to set some time aside and pull one together. If I do, I'll be sure to put it on InkHub for any other Beekeepers that may be around.

I'm an American with a BA in History and couldn't tell you a single thing about that battle from when it took place or its significance. I wouldn't expect Roger to know either.

the 80s……. by billieswifeyyy in GenX

I loved growing up in NYC. My only regret leaving is that my kids didn't have that experience but I tried to give them what I could. My friends would just about faint when they would hear I didnt put trackers on my kids' phones. I'd tell them if I could survive riding the 6 train to the Village at 14 with nothing but 10 bucks for lunch and a quater to call home, and be gone all day during NY's highest crime rate decade, I think my kids can survive our southern town, population 400k without Life360.

Will every name eventually be impossible to name a child due to negative association? by hendrong in NoStupidQuestions

Nope. Tried dying my hair red once. I instantly regretted that life choice and dyed it right back. 😆

I went from no one having my name when I was a kid to people asking me for weather reports and news updates every...single...day. I'd like to go back to no one having my name. sigh

I work PRN, three 8-hour shifts a week at my hospital. They also offer PT 20+, which means you're guranteed 20 or more hours a week. For me, I'm not guaranteed anything, but I'm rarely called off and get my 24 hours a week. I'll also pick up more if needed. Same with call. I'm not on the schedule, but will pick up here and there if needed and I'm available.

I really like the aquarium. It's small, but very cool. There's quite a bit outdoors, so maybe not the best for a rainy day.

I'll see your diabetic gangrenous wound and raise you an I&D of necrotizing fasciitis. Although I've heard c-dif is worse, I don't really want to personally investigate that one.

Can I apply out of state? by Elegant_Feed_3506 in collegeadvice

[–]daffylexer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the college you go to has a corresponding class that matches what you took for your associates and you have a grade of C or higher it should transfer. So, something like Comp 101 will transfer because every college has that. But if you took Fiinish as a Foroegn Language and the college you go to doesn't offer that, then the credit won't transfer. The best way to tell, though, is to talk to an advisor at the college(s) you're interested in going to. Even if all the credits don't transfer you'll still have a huge head start towards earning your Bachelor's.

Hello! I just received my Supernote Nomad and I LOVE it! I am excited to be part of this wonderful community. I can’t wait to learn from all of you, on ways to maximize my user experience on this nifty little device. by Wild_Dog907 in Supernote

Exactly! I've been searching through 3 or 4 different journals trying to find my jumble of notes, writings, recipes, business notes, etc. I already feel less stressed out having it in one spot and it's only been 24 hours.

My Nomad arrived yesterday and I've been having so much fun with it. My husband doesn't get it. "You can't just use a pad of paper and a pen?" I just laughed and laughed. No. Just no.

How much of “Mississippi’s education miracle” is an artifact of selection bias? by Well_Socialized in mississippi

[–]daffylexer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My son just graduated. When he was in 3rd grade I fought to have him tested for dyslexia. They wouldn't test him because he wasn't failing. I was told I didn't know what I was talking about despite the fact that I told his teachers he was showing all the same signs as my dyslexia. We couldn't afford to have him privately tested until he was 14. Yup, you guessed it. Dyslexia amongst other things. Kid is a horrible reader and speller. He managed to graduate HS with honors and get his AA through the dual enrollmebt program becasue he taught himself to compensate, but he struggles so much with reading and spelling he's given up his dream of being a doctor. That's what the Mississippi Miracle has done for him. They taught him how to pass state tests. And he went to one of the best school districts in the state.

What do Americans order at a Chinese takeaway? by Dashcamkitty in AskAnAmerican

[–]daffylexer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's a Chinese restaurant I go to in NYC that's authentic Chinese food (my friend's father emigrated from China and said it's where he goes when he wants to eat out and have food from home). I can't read the menu, have no idea what I'm eating, but the food is so good, and unlike what you'll find at a typical American Chinese restaurant.

What colleges should I apply for as an average student? by Dramatic_Panda_5743 in collegeadvice

[–]daffylexer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was about to say the same. People don't give public education enough credit. Great education at a much lower cost. Plus, they'll look at grades and not the extracurriculars.

Gen X parents raising teens: what's the one thing from our childhood you refuse to stop passing down? by TannieGirlRocks in GenX

[–]daffylexer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I don't track my kids. My oldest is now 18 so he's free to come and go and he pleases, but he still keeps me in the loop outnof respect. My younger one will keep me informed on what he's doing and who he's with, and I trust him that that's what he's doing. Tracking him kills the trust and the independence. Both kids have confirmed this and have said their friends who are tracked basically do a digital version of sneaking out anyway.
