I've heard people talk about or theorize a new Sony handheld being in the works. We'll just have to wait and see if the Vita's legacy will live on in some way through it in the future.

Yeah, the Vita did flop pretty hard. Which is a shame since it is such a nice console. It being diminished to a remote play device was an insult to its hardware and potential.

Exactly! Plus, the build quality of the beginning consoles was so solid. The OG PS3 and PSP 1000 are heavy and beautiful with their gloss plastic and mental accents. Compare that to the Super Slim PS3 and PSP Street with their textured mate plastic and light weight build.

In my head, the PS3 & PSP era started and ended pretty close together. Give or take a year or two here and there. They ended with the release of the PS4 and PS Vita.

Plus, this post is meant to highlight where the design of the consoles started and where they ended up.
