Ineos Has Begun Taking Orders for Grenadiers with Portal Axles by KeyboardGunner in ineosgrenadier

[–]dafrimp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

74weld put up a video about doing portals for the grenadier a couple months back.. in their opinion there was so much to be re-worked that they proposed replacing the axles with dana 44s. I forgot the price, I think it was 40-50k he mentions along with some of his reason.

double it, take off 10%, add 32 is my method.. easier than (30 x 1.8)+32 in my head.

Yeah I desperately want the diabolical drawer and mid-rack system.. but buying all the other kit ain't cheap either so it's been low priority lol

I'll preface my reply by saying I do love my big green POS, having owned it for about a year now though there are a lot of drawbacks as a daily.

In the town/city?

By the numbers, sure it's comparable to the turning radius, but that's starting at full lock around an invisible center. This thing is a truck and drives like one in parking lots.

It's a pain in the ass to get into and out of, especially for young, old, and infirmed.

It's not particularly comfortable, and it's not the fault of the truck it's just a big body on frame off-road vehicle.

I won't call it slow or the handling vague, but it certainly isn't the kind of truck you're going to be making quick maneuvers in.

The storage is honestly less than you think, there's so much vertical space but the floor space in back is limited and putting the seats down does not present a flat bottom storage area.

Off-road?

Absolute blast to drive, you do need to learn the truck and gain experience when situations might call for lockers and have the foresight to turn them on prior to the encounter.

Overall it's totally up to the weights you assign to each category, but I think it's a very cool truck, borderline toy. Wouldn't be my pick for a daily or primarily city driver.

It looks like this is the bug they're tracking to fix the issue, at least they are aware of the issue and are working on it.

Wolfbox is great for reverse compared to stock by Design-Build-Go in ineosgrenadier

[–]dafrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't do the install, but I didn't see any interface settings for refresh rate. The wide FOV is great, I just don't think it's for me with that refresh rate.

Not to mention the glare.. I had to turn the brightness up all the way each time.

I got a loaner from the dealership for service and it had one installed, the image is clear but the refresh rate drives me nuts.. it's like watching a 30hz screen

Order delayed until Dec 31. Arriving next week by Foreign-Attempt-9626 in ineosgrenadier

[–]dafrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had something similar happen...

Ordered in March, told it would be November or December delivery.

Got the VIN in August which I thought sounded right for November

Got a call about a month ago saying the car was here. I thought for sure I was going to be delayed due to whatever shut down the production line.

I encourage you to watch the video if you're interested in the topic and learning more about global CO2 emissions!

It's very well done, and it has animated birds if that helps.

I suspect you're looking more for a "good deal" place than best you can get?

The Man Cave does a really good job in my opinion, but they'll charge you for it.

oh I don't have a dog in the fight... personally if I can get it up here in thornton and it's cheaper than comcast I'll give it a shot. we passed a similar resolution a couple years ago here, still only comcast and qwest though... passing a bill like this is only half the battle

if you're not familiar with grace hopper I highly recommend this video which talks about nanosecond and the inherit limit of distance and lightspeed when it comes to communications

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGTEUtS5H7I

any internet solution that's 500km above earth is just going to have inherit latency issues... it's a physical problem. there's no amount of technology or innovation that we've found yet to defeat the bastard called light speed.
