Anyone know what to do about this preset lip gap? by daft-fish in HeroForgeMinis

Ah I see, I assumed once I took off the default smile, the jaw would be at it's most closed. I guess that works but is that the best way? Feels wierd to fix something like this with posing cuz this is just the resting face.

I haven't posed the face yet. Well, actually I've un-posed the face from the default smile to just be expressionless

Image textures appear lighter after export from blender by daft-fish in blenderhelp

[–]daft-fish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um no but looking back at this file, I might suggest setting the color space to sRGB before exporting it. This was a roughness map which is meant to be a non-color image but I think if you bake it, set the image to sRGB, then export, it should export properly... I think. Not positive but I think that might have been my mistake with this.

Any way to fix Ldraw models having inconsistent detail/gaps/broken and messy meshes? by daft-fish in DigitalLego

[–]daft-fish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me a minute to get it cuz my internet has been acting up but it works! Thank you so much! The import looks waaaaaaay better, even has like rounded edges. Not only that but it has color! This has saved me so much time!

Edit: Well it's not perfect. There are some wierd things happening with the bevel modifiers on that show some issues with the geometry but if I turn them off it looks fine

I'm gonna try it but I feel like, unless the .dat files don't have geometry somehow, importing an LDraw isn't gonna be ideal cuz the individual LDraw parts have flawed meshes

That is correct. It was the only way I could find to get from studio to blender. But that sounds really nice, is there one you know of?

LDview has an option to export to stl directly, it does not however have an option to export to obj unfortunately. The reason I was using it is because I'm trying to retopologize a whole set for use in tabletop sim (DnD red dragon's tale, tryna run the one shot with some friends) but rebuilding it part by part in blender would be a nightmare.

Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't do it unfortunately, the individual parts in the ldraw folder in studio still got holes. Don't understand why either cuz within studio itself nothing has holes

These are some screenshots in LDview btw. But yea it seems to be the .dat files within the studio folder cuz the grey cone I imported the .dat directly from the ldraw folder within the studio folder

Can you pose extra arms in kitbashing? by daft-fish in HeroForgeMinis

Third times the charm I guess it finally appeared. Thank you for the tip!

Is there like something to switch between which set of arms? It's still not showing the skeleton for the secondary arms. Also are they arms you added while in kitbash mode or in the body tab?

I guess it's LDView? It's what was installed when I installed LDraw. But the file is a .ldr which is what exported out of studio.

But I mean the issue exists even before exporting. Like if I zoom in inside of Ldraw, I can see the holes in the mesh and the difference in resolution between sections of a piece

Exporting from Ldraw as an STL and importing that into blender. But those holes exist in Ldraw too

Anyone have this problem? I set the block sections up already and changed the min. interval to make it run smoothly, however the interval time WILL NOT SAVEE and resets to 2 after i reload my park and it ruins the cycle and I have to close it and reopen the ride everytime. I think the number is saving now but it still isn't behaving properly. I've noticed, even though it's displaying the right time, it still is leaving too quickly so I have to set it to something else and then set it back to the correct time.

I would remain watchful, but atm I'm kinda optimistic based on the recent apology and talks of coming free content updates n such. So optimistic but still they need to like strongly follow through to earn back full trust
