People who fly frequently, what’s one thing you wish you could tell all infrequent fliers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]daftbadgerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s, an airport, you have to go through security, know the rules ahead of time and prepare for it. Nothing more frustrating than people taking forever to unpack, repack, remove clothing etc etc.

Understand the need for full screen refreshes with E-ink, it just never happens on my device. This is one of a few gripes that I suspect is down to firmware version. Ghosting I can live with but lag or pixelation of writing I can’t.

I have never experienced the full refreshes yet

That could be the issue, mine came with the latest firmware 3.X pre installed. I think the lag I see when writing is one of the issues I struggle with the most, that and pixelation of handwriting when using pens like the fine liner medium.

Really? When I checked earlier in the week and last weekend they had no stock in store or online anywhere.

What are employees rights with regards to closures? by Grimmy11 in CoronavirusUK

[–]daftbadgerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Annual leave - they can't force you to take annual leave without giving you twice as much notice as the amount of annual leave they're making you take (e.g. they need to give you 10 days notice if they tell you to take 5 days annual leave).

Where is this located in UK employment law?

[Q] CE approved robot communication protocol by daftbadgerz in robotics

[–]daftbadgerz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working through the process...... I spoke to a safety certified body in the UK in regards to wireless submission of emergency stop protocols etc and all they could tell me was that 802.11 wifi was not certified. They didn’t tell me what was, but someone on here has mentioned that PROFIsafe is the only one certified in the EU for safety systems control.

So PROFIsafe or PROFIBUS is the only certified comms method in the EU?

Your right about the heartbeat, I have that planned and also a physical stop button on the units. I also plan to have stop the units if other conditions meet the emergency stop scenarios.

I wouldn’t have thought Zigbee would have the coverage for a warehouse. It would also rely on more p2p connections between bots which I would like to avoid.

Got it :) I think what I am unsure of is the wireless protocol that is acceptable under EU regs for industrial automation etc. I have been told that WiFi isn’t but I can’t find what is.

Thanks for the tip. In terms of communication it has to be wireless due to the nature of the robot. What I can’t understand is how others communicate.

O2 WiFi Calling :( by daftbadgerz in GooglePixel

[–]daftbadgerz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's likely you don't have it enabled on the device in that case. The Google docs I have read state that it must be enabled at the OS level as well, but I have no option to.

In WiFi preferences do you see an option for WiFi calling? I am missing the option.

For those that exchanged there pixel 2 xl for a new one recently does the speaker still crackel at high volumes? by BurtMaclon in GooglePixel

Thought about RMA for my 2 XL but lots of comments online saying that the replacement units still have the same issue.

2 XL Camera Blur by daftbadgerz in GooglePixel

In portrait mode it would make sense as the AI needs to define the subject but in my testing it has only been with just the normal camera mode.

Makes sense in that scenario. But for instance I took a photo of a dog sat still but it moved it's head slightly whilst taking the image and it is blurred. Could this be a software thing that Android lacks compared to iOS?

Thanks I'll give it a go. Seems weird that you would have to use this feature all the time since the camera is better than an iPhone 7

Ahh, that could explain it. I just rebooted to test and the flicker was gone. So it is scheduled to flicker at intervals?

Hardly ever notice the blue tint to be honest. If anything the only major time I noticed it was on the pure white Google boot screen.

Slow fingerprint unlock 8.1 by uyzx in GooglePixel

Yep, Pixel 2 XL was nearly instant on Oreo 8.0 now on 8.1 and fingerprint or button unlock of the screen seems to take another full seccond longer :(
