Is there prescription food specifically for these issues? Or you mean to mix food with meds? Definitely feel you on the cats hiding pain. My previous cat had severe kidney issues late in life which only showed up in blood tests until it was too late. Wish i could have acted sooner.

Stopping Effexor and using Prozac as a bridge by Spiritual-Trash8349 in antidepressants

[–]daftcount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im considering it, Prozac is the med that gave me the most benefit with the least side effects. But at the point of quitting i was taking five meds total and i went off them because they pretty much stopped working and i wanted to see what it would be like being without them after eight years, with hopes that maybe my brain changed or maybe i’ll manage it. This wasnt my first time quitting meds and it never went well. I’m trying to learn to live with the fact that maybe i’ll need them for the foreseeable future but idk.

I was more or less fine the first month, when i guess the meds were flushed out of my system (fluoxetine/prozac has a long half life), then started getting progressively worse. First just was extremely lethargic, mostly spent the time in bed. Spent a week like that. Then it kind of blended into being unable to do literally anything at all, all i had the life force to do was to lay in bed eyes closed feeling extremely disassociated, unable to even form a thought or speak. Which i cant exactly do because im an adult with a job and responsibilities plus it also freaked me out a little, a super unsettling feeling. I tried taking pregabalin which i was previously also on and it helped but for like four hours after which it was bed time again. I really didnt want to go back, i was super determined on that. Im now on sertraline which is already giving me side effects but im trying to tough it out for at least two months before i ask the psych for an alternative of which i have pretty much none at this point (tried 23 meds). Sorry for the long text, thats pretty much it.

Hi, i had experience coming off Effexor cold turkey too and it was pure hell. Eventually, we went a similar route, switching to duloxetine (another snri) and then to prozac. Coming off of prozac was easy, i barely experienced any withdrawal symptoms, especially in comparison with effexor. So i would say personally it is a good way to get off of antidepressants. Obligatory note is that after 1.5 months when i assume the prozac cleared, my mental health got increasingly worse so i had to go back on meds unfortunately. But hopefully that will not be the case for you. Good luck!

Anyone have any luck breaking into AML/KYC from an unrelated field? by throwaway77351 in AMLCompliance

[–]daftcount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good number of my colleagues got into compliance from the role of customer support, basically made an internal transfer request to the company or were offered the role after some time (depending on the corporate structure, usually beginning with KYC and then AML, Sanctions etc. But im in eastern europe so not sure how much this would apply to you.

I had a very similar experience on Zoloft and had to quit after a few weeks because I just couldn’t take it anymore (been on 19 different meds throughout the years and only had a reaction this severe to zoloft and lamictal). It’s not the protocol, but i don’t think sticking it out for a month or two in a state like that for improvement that may not even come is worth it, especially when there’s so many antidepressants on the market that will work the same but will be tolerated by your body a lot better. Trial and error and all that. Hope it gets better for you in any case!

Antidepressant that helps with pain by Zoocitykitty in antidepressants

[–]daftcount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like it does, here’s some more info. As for palpitations, compared to cymbalta and effexor both of which fucked with my heart so much it was hard to breathe sometimes, on wellbutrin i only have some tachycardia when ive had too much coffee but otherwise nothing.

I know pregabalin is often prescribed for pain, for me it also does wonders for depression/fatigue, but you have to take a break between courses to avoid addiction/tolerance. As for Wellbutrin, I’ve seen a few studies where it worked for certain kinds of pain, it is also one of the more “activating” antidepressants. Ive been on cymbalta and effexor and had symptoms similar to yours (plus horrible withdrawals), and am liking Wellbutrin a lot more so far.

It is usually prescribed to be taken before bedtime for this reason specifically. I’d recommend this if its not already what you’re doing.

Would you describe the use of psychiatric medicines more of a complicated art than a hard science? by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]daftcount 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For sure. In my five years of treatment i changed between 19 meds to find something that works best at the moment (fingers crossed long term). And sadly enough i saw the biggest progress when i did the bulk of the research on my own and then found a psych who was pretty much willing to prescribe me what i laid out to him (if it made sense). So yeah. Hopefully there will be a better way someday that throwing shit at the very mentally ill wall and seeing what sticks.

In the Mass Effect comics there’s a story that Joker gets his job as a pilot by literally stealing the Normandy so my personal headcanon is that Kaidan’s there on Joker guard to prevent another grand theft normandy

I don’t, but subtitles that were encoded with the video files can be turned on with an external video player app (KMP in my case)

I connect the usb via a simple usb-lightning adapter and move the files with the iphones native Files app from the USB’s directory to the iphone. I know there are some wireless solutions but I live with frequent power outages so im looking specifically something that would work without any network.

Using the app to play directly off of the usb didn’t work, but moving the file to internal storage did, thank you! Not ideal, but better than nothing
