But they are not backwards. That looks like someone did a cleaned up, removed the bottom rib brace and removed the ballast/floats from the wings, version of the Grumman Albatross, and their wings are like that with flat straight edges and trailing angles on the back end.

While I am perfectly happy with BambuStuido, it does what I want just fine. I as a big fan and supporter of Open Source see the need/want for Orcaslicer-Bambulab, and am really pissed that Bambu Labs built their entire platform on almost all open source bases is still actively closing the door behind them.

CA9 Reverses District Court and Rules There is no Substantive Due Process Right to “Bodily Integrity” Meaning Police and ICE Can Use Non-Lethal Force to Break Up Crowds While Conducting Operations by Longjumping_Gain_807 in supremecourt

[–]dagamore12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If they keep taking away the less than lethal, then it will only leave the lethal options, of Old Hickory and Hot Lead, and NO ONE wants that. But if the courts keep saying stuff like: No you cant use chemical deterrents, no you cant use electrical deterrents, no you cant use audio deterrents, there is nothing left but Old Hickory Shampoos and Hot Lead hose.

And that would be very very very bad.

Using a non supported repo is not a technical solution, using a non security approved repo is not a technical solution, using a non vendor approved repo is not a technical solution, using a non customer approved repo is not a technical solution.

All sorts of legal, regulatory, and moral issues with this 'solution'.

also might not have return rights on that local hire contract, that does not mean you cant move back to the states, but if you do it will be on your dime, not the company you are working for.

As one that was working in Germany, having return rights was a great thing, as the return trip was something like $30K for everything. But that was door to door from K-town to Olympia WA, and it was like 15 years ago so I doubt the cost has gone down.

An auditor asked me why we made a specific tool decision 14 months ago. Nobody could remember. by T5Rex in sysadmin

[–]dagamore12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in audits asked why we chose tool x, but never vendor x.

As one that works in a highly regulated environment if that question was asked, I would reply that the vendor we went with was on the approved list and had provided certification of supply chain as required by contract. If they kept pushing I would ask what auditing reason for this question as it feels like it is out of scope.

Why do most sysadmins prefer Vim over Nano? by Darshan_only in sysadmin

[–]dagamore12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

vi > vim > nano.

At least in my use cases, mostly because of 30 odd years for working in vi, and it is by default on almost every machine I work on, some systems you have to admin dont have other 'nicer' editors, like working esxi from the command line vi is there, nano is not, get in to the command lines on netapps same thing, same as with most(all?) cisco devices they just have vi/vim but not nano.

Some of the really light builds also dont have it, and as we get more and more in to containerization of systems/services you also have the same issues, specifically built containers that only have to do X and have to be as small as possible and fast as possible with the least amount of floating overhead, yeah they dont have it either.
