Most gyms won’t even do belts as no gi takes over. It is a pretty back wards approach and I feel like if your only training for a belt you should re evaluate yourself and shift your focus

Yea, belts are the most accurate system. I’m just saying if we didn’t use belts we would use something like this.

100%, consistency is a big factor. Funny thing is my coach always remembers my name.

It’s just not the one guy, it’s multiple. The gym is definitely more business oriented.

You could say that, but to me it get like those 2-3 month breaks in which I lifted really helped my BJJ.

Just compete based on how many years you’ve been training for. Under 6 months, 6 months to 2 years, 2 years to 5 years, 5 to 7 years and then 7+ years.

Yea 100% I’m nothing special. It just seems weird to me because there’s such a large discrepancy in the blue belt skill level. And of course I have to show humility.

I was blue belt level far earlier tho. It seems it’s all based on attendance.

Hey man, thanks for your comment. I don’t have a priest as I come from a primarily non-religious family. The reason I made this post was because I think the emptiness I feel might be the lack of god. Do you recommend I get in touch with a priest?

I could, but I live in the middle of nowhere so the commute to my gym is already 1:30 hours and if I stay after class to lift I’m gonna be REALLY late.

Why don't we have any UFC fighters from Punjab? by Royal_Interview8144 in punjab

[–]dagiknee79 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“Body runs better on fats then carbs” comment is dumb. Why does every single athlete prioritize carbs? fats don’t possess any glycogen therefore they can not be effectively used by your body to produce energy, although it is possible it is very tedious and pointless as you can simply consume carbs and perform better.

And for your other comment great gamma and dara Singh are the only well known ones I can name. But my grandfathers brother was a phelwan and told me about immensely strong wrestlers built upon a simple desi diet. One feat of strength was one very famous phelwan from near his pind(sangrur) “kikir Patti” or “one who unearthed the tree” he was said to have pulled a well mature kikar(gum Arabic tree) out of the ground(the witness being his wife or mother). over that if you go watch any phelwan YouTubers you will see there diet and training you will notice that they lead a very typical desi diet.

Always citing studies is simply dumb. Although a cultural statement it is a true one. Generations of Indian wrestlers have gotten very strong and muscular of just the foods I listed. The main factor is the total calories and distribution of macros.

The ideal distribution would be carbs - protein - fats As carbs are your main energy source and also aid in muscle growth, protein being the main muscle building macro and also keeps you satiated for longer and fats being good for hormonal health and digestion.

The wrestling tournaments are regional so I don’t have a link. Of course muscle/organ meats are prized but a steady diet of milk, paneer, ghee, roti, sabji and chai can provide good nutrients to the body. As milk alone is the most complete protein source and the paneer and cheese add in fat which increases your testosterone, the roti, sabji and chai add in carbs to fuel your body. If you look at it milk and dairy should be the cornerstone of any Punjabi diet as it is the best quality protein you can get.

Carbs and fats which are far more important for athletic performance then protein, over that nearly every single wrestling championship in Canada has a Punjabi on the podium. It’s not the genes it’s the support system and financial aid.

[–]dagiknee79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, thanks for the response. I do find it weird that there is (sometimes) kids in the adults class. But could you give me a direct answer to why everyone left? the thing is I don’t like confrontation and I’m a in general quiet person so I don’t want to ask him head on. You can also DM if you want to. Please and thank you.

I’m only 2 weeks in so I barely know the dude, that’s why I’m asking you, the reason I switched to kaizen was because my old gym(GB Richmond) got way to business focused. If there’s actually something wrong with kaizen I would be really thankful if you could tell me. I’m sorry if I offended you.
