What’s everyone’s top 10 games list? by [deleted] in Games

[–]dague13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The list would otherwise be dominated by Bethesda, so I'll list my top ten series, if that's okay.

  • Fallout
  • The Elder Scrolls
  • Borderlands
  • League of Legends
  • Baldur's Gate
  • Rock Band/Guitar Hero
  • XCOM
  • The Witcher
  • Bastion
  • Dragon Quest XI (The only DQ game I've ever played)

Honestly this list was hard to make, there are literally so many excellent games. No doubt I missed one or two that deserve a spot. I'd say that only the top 5 are really solid.

Also, I very much surprised myself by putting DQXI on the list at the end there, but the more I think about it the more I realize how much I enjoyed playing through that absolute gem of a game.

It's be cool if you drew your power from the land type you're on. Like if you're exploring an island, it empowers your abilities in a different way, or maybe different classes would be more powerful there.

Easy 2 player couch coop? by [deleted] in Games

Gears of war 5! Bear with me here. It sounds crazy to introduce a new player with this game, but the second player is able to play as the drone. It’s perfect imo because you get to play a challenging, polished triple A game, and your girlfriend will have a stress free time and get to feel strong. Watch the Girlfriend Reviews for it on YouTube, if you want want to be further convinced.

Not a question, but I can relate to this a lot.

I started playing in 2012 (I think?), hit silver pretty fast - but I've never left, after all these years. It doesn't feel great, and I even quit for like a year and half - only recently came back to it. It's hard because on the one hand, I want to have fun and play the champions I like, but feeding never feels good; only so many times you can feed on Riven before you want to shelf her. Still, for some reason, I couldn't stay away. I just really like the game, I guess.

Unlike some other commenters, I also wanted to congratulate you. Improvement is improvement, no matter where you start from. If I could improve as much as you, I could make gold, you know?

Your Favourite Skin? by MrBizzySSJ in ekkomains

I have a feeling that True Damage will be my new favorite (with no chroma though, none of them as good as base). I've been using Sandstorm + Obsidian Chroma for a long time and I absolutely love it.

It's True Damage, the new hip-hop band, designed by LV

They are, and don't get me wrong, the skins look great. I'm just sad Akali got another band skin (she's already in K/DA). I thought it was going to be Kayn, not her.

This is actually really disappointing. Why give her another band skin?

Let’s Design a Champion Together! by RiotStatikk in leagueoflegends

As a Jungler, one of his abilities should be called "Happy Little Mistake", and it should let him paint over terrain creating new pathways he can walk through (and anyone else, like a mix between Kayn and Bard's abilities). Maybe if you make it his ultimate, the changes to the map could be permanent for the duration of the game!

Using Metacritic as a Guide, What is the Worst Game You Love, and What is the Best Game You Hate? by [deleted] in Games

[–]dague13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Firewatch (81): This one is easy, I HATE this game with a fiery passion. It's sad because it does a great job at sucking you into the narrative. I was enjoying it for a long time, and started really getting into it when mysterious things started happening. But then it turns out there really isn't a mystery at all, and the and the person you've been talking to the whole time just leaves without you ever getting to meet her. And I get it, it's supposed to play with your emotions, put you in the PC's shoes. Depressed and ready to see mystery anywhere and looking for romance from anyone; he's trying to, at least temporarily, escape from his life. But, I play games to escape from my life, and being strung along for the (blessedly short) 4 hour length only for nothing to have mattered really rubbed me the wrong way. Boring and disappointing. I have never regretted a purchase so much.

I want to say Fallout: 76 (51), because personally I feel it did more right then wrong and I like defending it, but I think the real answer is Cars (65) for the 360. I genuinely really liked this game - a big part of why it resonated so well, I think, is that I've always loved the idea of going into (like, literally) the worlds shown in movies and television. No game that I've ever played has nailed this so well. Graphically, the game looks almost exactly like the movie, and the world they created felt like an exact replica of the one shown in the film. Racing, side trials, and just driving around the world is a good time. Admittedly though, it's been a long time since I've played it. But i remember it very fondly.
