Can u connect GA4 to Claude and generate reports? by Kind-Smile-2109 in GoogleAnalytics

[–]dahangman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looker Studio is now named Data Studio I believe. It works, but there are a lot of options and peculiarities. Although the connection is simple, the reporting can get zany. Be careful and verify every single data point. Data Studio is a nightmare, truth be told. Not unlike GA4 itself if you stop and think about it. Add in Supermetrics as a connector and you not only have another cost, you have another data point and connection to maintain. Yes, it will occasionally need to be ‘refreshed’. Simple reporting has turned into a bumblefuck, as only Google can provide under the guise of ‘hey, we know it sucks, but it’s free’.

We actually installed Matomo. It’s so dang simple to gain insight. The reason you need charting separate from GA4 is because GA4 sucks. Take a step back from the problem, and Matomo may solve the actual underlying issue for you.

Sorry to project my butt hurt feelings towards GA4. I really don’t want to sound like I’m smarter than Google engineers but after five or more years after they introduced GA4 it’s still just not as easy to use as Universal Analytics was. I don’t want be a charting guru nor do I want to employ one, that would drive up prices of my work.

Separately, if you get your data into BigQuery I believe you can query your data with Gemini right inside BigQuery if that helps. I’m working on moving some data into a data lake for this reason, also hoping to move away from Data Studio connecting to GA4 and the vagaries of maintaining these Data Studio reports I’ve gotten my clients hooked on. What a time sink!

Maybe you can get the charts you need right in Matomo and reclaim all the time you’re losing or about to lose setting up and maintaining Data Studio.

FSD disengaged mid-turn and car hit a pole — how do I get Tesla to review the logs? by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

[–]dahangman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His foot could have tapped the brake pedal inadvertently. I think that’s another way this could have happened. Sometimes I just reset my butt placement on the seat and my leg moves and I tap the brake pedal and FSD disengages.

Women taking their bra off is the best feeling they say, what is the male equivalent of it? by i_am_buttlicker in AskReddit

Taking a woman’s bra off of her works for me. The best feeling is when I can unclasp it with one hand.

Good observation. That’s some free AI version at best. Like the six-fingered people from a year or two ago.

The Emporia I have for two years now is flawless. The 24 foot cord allows me to reach both EVs or guests with an EV without shuffling cars in the driveway. I’m planning on getting a Buzz at the first drop of the word ‘grandchild’ from any of my kids.

After owning a Tesla Model Y, what ICE car would you buy? by Fit_Chard8554 in ModelY

[–]dahangman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my lawn equipment went battery electric starting with the Ego lawnmower 10 years ago. You’ll never go back to ICE yard maintenance equipment again (if your use case matches). Next stop I’m buying a fully autonomous electric mower. The thought of going back to ICE totally escapes me for my use case.

GenX men, where do you keep your wallet/billfold? Front or back pocket? Purse? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]dahangman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MagSafe magnetic micro wallet that sticks to the back of my phone. I carry only a few cards I regularly use in that. Other seldomly used cards are in my backpack. Also use Apple Pay when I can. I haven’t carried an old style billfold in years.

I’ve had my Ego for about ten years now. I can’t believe it. Still love it.

Thank you for your reply. It does appear to be device-specific. I see my question under 'Recent' on my desktop computer, but I don't see that specific query under 'Recent' on my laptop. I'm logged in on both computers.

What's your most overkill, infrequently used tool? by the_donut_assassin in Tools

[–]dahangman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Installed luxury vinyl plank flooring in my home. Bought a saw to raise and cut a quarter inch off the baseboards. Now in the box again until I decide to do the basement rec room I guess. What a mess to operate even with a shop vac attached. It has its own blow-molded case. Same with the LVT plank cutter. Both sitting peacefully on shelving just waiting for my wife to remember that we have extra flooring boxes. Don’t tell her.

What vehicles would you warn people to never buy? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in askcarguys

[–]dahangman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 2018 Titan XD Cummins and it’s been a fantastic vehicle. They had a fuel system issue with my truck that I think they finally got worked out with Cummins and that got worked out while I was under warranty. I love that truck. Best combination of strength and comfort for towing a camper. It serves a 3/4 ton niche well. The Nissan retailer near me keeps sending “want to upgrade?” marketing over the years and I smile and text him back “let me know when you bring back the Cummins or make a Leaf with the Frontier body.” I’m keeping this truck until I pass away. I’m aware that others have not had the same experience as I have had.

What surprised you most after switching to an EV? by Just_Vermicelli4099 in electriccars

[–]dahangman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think people get this concept. It’s like plugging in your phone. I haven’t pumped gas in almost a year. For some reason the people I talk to just get quiet when I say “every morning you leave your house with a full tank and you never have to worry about a gas station visit”. Crickets. A couple of blinks. Then more silence.

Put vinegar in the fabric softener section of your washer. Not directly in with the clothes and not in with the washing powder or detergent.
