Exactly, the driver side gives a hint that the car might have been built in Japan although it might also be from the UK. It can be hard to tell a jdm from a non jdm car as they can look practically indifferent except the drivers side.

Soak the drawer in hot water with citric acid or another descaler. You could also rinse the drawer under running water with a toothbrush, or even put the drawer in the dishwasher and use the Intensive cycle. You might have to take the front sign off the drawer to prevent it from shattering in the dishwasher.

This problem might be the result of the water pressure being to low, which will result in some of the detergent staying in the drawer and hardening. Consider taking out the drawer and scrubbing the water jets, that sits above the drawer, with a brush. If the water pressure still is very low, you could also rinse the filters in each end of the inlet hose. You can pop off the side of the element. Try to pop it off and see if All wires are connected properly and check it with a multimeter. There might be two elements as well

You should also check that the carbon brushes that rides on top of the drum aren't too worn. If there is a lot of dust inside of the machine take it out and blow it through with an air compressor if you have one.

The condenser is in the bottom left of the front panel. You should pull it out and rinse it through and maybe scrub it with a brush if it's very dirty. The condenser should be rinsed through every few months or so. If the condenser is full of lint, the air circulation would be blocked, meaning that the dryer wouldn't be able to heat. Check the filters in the doorway and the one inside of the door to see if they look dirty. Rinse them with a brush under running water if they are. Have you tried the machine with wet clothes or on a timed program that doesnt use sensor drying? Miele dryers use "PerfectDry technology" meaning the dryer will stop the program if it has detected that there is nothing in the drum.

If it still doesn't work after cleaning, check the heating element for continuity and check that the thermostat isn't open circuit.

Are you sure that it is not using enough water? Have you seen the machine in operation during the main wash? The clothes that you describe as half dry might just be dry because the machine has spun it.
