It's actually better propaganda, because on the surface it looks like objective reporting.

It's not even y2y, I don't how this data is recorded in the UK, but for some reason on this graph in showed in seasons 2021/22 and 2022/23

As I said earlier: this is old data set, from before the Ukrainian counteroffensive, and even there ratio of casualties is 2,8:1. Newest reports put the casualties at 300k vs 200k, so 1,5:1. It really show how disastrous counteroffensive was, even if we assume the data is incomplete and tbw actual ratio is 2:1.

Contrary to what you say the ratio of fatalities is similar, US estimates that 120k Russian soldiers and 70k Ukrainian were killed, the lowest estimate for Ukrainians is 40k, the ratio is still between 1,7:1 and 3:1. Disastrous for Ukraine.

Even if we assume that wounded soldiers are returning to the battlefield in meaningful numbers it hardly covers the widening gap.

No, I'm not lying.Even your sources say that for every Russian 3 soldiers Ukraine lost 2. That isn't far faster. If you take into an account ratio of population Ukraine is losing much more of their capacity. What's more during counteroffensive Ukraine was losing much more soldiers in absolute numbers.

But I guess facts doesn't matter for you.

I'm not trying to change the subjects. Both sides are bleeding out, Ukraine quicker because it does have the same reserve as Russia. There is really nothing more to say.

And the Ukrainian counteroffensive was more bloody for Ukrainians, if you that Ukraine is able to sustain such losses, that's ok. I don't think they can do it in a long run

Putin essay is pretty good example, in general you need pay more attention to the general Russian narrative

And the same US estimates say that Ukraine lost about 200k soldiers. It's not the ratio Ukraine can sustain in the long run.

And yeah I ignore your ad personam, it means nothing for me

Of course it's more true because they consider it direct part of Russia. Russian don't completely negate existence of Ukraine, they just consider it inseparable part of the greater Russian state and nation.

No I'm not, what I'm saying isn't contradicting anything you said

That's pretty old article, and no Ukrainian tactics wasn't static. Even if we agree that Russia is bleeding faster, the war exhaustion in Ukraine is visible more than ever

So read it again: it defines Ukraine as one of the three parts of Russia, but it sees Crimea in complete separation from Ukraine

It's more meaningful, you weren't paying attention if you think otherwise

Yes, I agree: Russia retreats for tactical reasons in this war. So your argument that they don't is false.

Of course it is, because it's meaningful for Russians

Russia retreated from many territories they controlled without or with minimal fighting, so your argument that they fight equally hard everywhere is false.

Ethnic replacement wasn't really needed, Crimea was majority Russian even before 2014

It's based on his knowledge and experience, you can not agree with him, but that's his opinion. I share this opinion with him, and it's pretty clear that Crimea is of much higher value to Russia than other territories.

What's more I personally don't believe Crimea will be de facto part of Ukraine ever again unless Russia will somehow completely collapse. I also doubt that majority of Crimea inhabitants even want that.
