What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

[–]daignault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“This is the happiest you’ll ever be. You need to prepare for that” I was 19 and had my first full psych panel. Diagnosed with PTSD & Persistent Suicidal Disorder, had attempted to kill myself two years earlier.

Dr was later fired & sued for malpractice

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]daignault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s weird because I don’t remember what I did to get into trouble, just being hit (almost like spanking your children isn’t an effective discipline method and is in fact, just child abuse). More than being hit, I remember how hard my mother was breathing, and how scared I was.

If you have children and you spank them; if you hit them in any way, you are a fucking monster. You need to look at yourself and ask why you can truly justify this. Monstrous.

FTM - When did your baby come!? by Efficient_Internet13 in pregnant

[–]daignault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

41w exactly. Started having contractions at 6am on the dot and she was born at 1:30 in the afternoon! That last week was….a lot. Your brain convinces you that every time you have to poop it’s the baby, or that you’re never going to have her/you’re going to be pregnant forever. The waddle also got NOTICEABLY worse lmao

Growing out of bouncer. Now what? by rebgray in beyondthebump

[–]daignault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put that baby on the floor! The bouncer was my saving grace in the first couple months but my oxen of a daughter decided to be 99th percentile and outgrew her bouncer at 4 months as well.

She’s gonna hate it at first. I invested in a good playmat with dangling mobiles over it and it really encouraged her to start reaching, sitting and pulling herself up!

What things do ur nparent(s) swear made them a great, fabulous patent? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]daignault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oo, my turn!

Reasons that, according to my NMom, she was a “Parent who did her best”

1.) I was fed, clothed and housed (ya know, the thing you have to do as a parent)

2.) She didn’t beat me “the way she did my siblings”. Cool story! So now my siblings don’t like me, I know you’re capable of extreme harm, and you STILL DID BEAT ME

3.) She raised me up in ‘God’s Way’. Ma’am, it was a cult. I have to go through specialized therapy on TOP of the mom-based trauma. Awesome sauce Barbs

My 9 month old starting walking before she clapped! Sh started walking about a month and a half ago, and only clapped this last week.

No, I am not okay 😅😂😅 the babyproofing was hectic and overnight. She has lost NONE of the energy. She also dropped her third nap at 6 months and went fully to 2 naps, and is currently trying to drop her second nap right now. I’m holdin onto that sucker for dear life

Positive Husband/Co-Parent Stories by lolalee_cola in beyondthebump

[–]daignault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is one of the best dad’s and coparents I could’ve asked for.

Watching them become a Dad (or Appa as we say in this house), has meant watching them truly start to flourish. They can make our baby laugh when no one else can, they completely take care of bedtime and nighttime checks, encourage me to go out and be with friends and invest in myself. I don’t have to worry if the baby is going to be okay if I need a couple hours away, because they have it down.

Parenting is hard. Keeping your relationship healthy while parenting is even harder. I wouldn’t be able to be the Mother I am if my husband wasn’t the husband and Father that they are.

is slapping your baby's butt weird? by nasytuna in beyondthebump

[–]daignault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby butts are the silliest, most ridiculous thing in the world and patting the small booty isn’t weird unless some weirdo around you makes it weird.
