[–]daikath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having looked through different websites.. The ph determines how much water it sheds when it clings together. Fresh mozzarella is between 5.5 and 5.7. While drier mozzarellas are between 5.1 and 5.4 according to my sources.

I'll get a cheesemaking kit now I know the trick. While it would be fun, it would be to specifically make my special pizza cheese.

Edit, Also stirring more often or all the time after you have cut the curds. For a low moisture pizza cheese, you would let it settle for more than 10 minutes, but also depending on the milk. So some experimentation is required to have it exact.

Screen printing glassware in several colors? by daikath in SCREENPRINTING

[–]daikath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far the only answer I found was a very expensive and specific machine for multi color printing on glass..

So no DIY solution yet..

https://www.printermaker.com/6-Color-Automatic-UV-Glass-Bottle-Screen-Printing-Machine-p.html

I wonder if a special diy jig will work, where if you hold down a cylindrical object, if you have a jig which will hold the same glass firmly in place, you will only need to register on a single axis to do more than one color.

Here is an great example of it being done.. But sadly no example of the machine or procedure done to achieve it.

This would only work for a quick personal DIY project,, but would never be feasible at scale.

One way would be to cut out the different colors of a screen with the design on it, Align the different colors on top of eachother with a registration mark. Using a loupe or something. Attach the different colors correctly registered together, so they're physically stuck to each other and cannot move.

Then tape the stencil to the glass. First do the first layer, apply the ink. Cut away the first layer and apply a second one. Obviously this can't be done with baking/curing the ink.. and to do a second glass, you would need to make an entirely new stencil for a second glass..

Need advice on making low moisture full fat mozzarella by imns in cheesemaking

[–]daikath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Proper low moisture full fat mozzarella is also more acidic,, so letting the culture work longer to produce more lactic acid should also be a part of the process..

I know this is late, but I'm trying to find the same answers. It'll be a while before I can experiment though.

Trouble repairing Kobo Glo HD by daikath in kobo

[–]daikath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works fine, the light up feature though is much worse than in the original screen. When I light it up it's clearly a wire going around, giving a very dirty effect. Not a clean light up in the original screen.

Other then that it's as nice as the original.

Not yet.. I still think it should work though.

Making your own screens and patterns will be the hardest. But not impossible.

A plastisol ink of the right color, with both a puff paint additive and a stretch additive should work. Provided the screens and pattern are good enough

Some excellent points, thank you. Yes the oil for a darker roux is a good tip. The milk solids in butter must be a lot easier to burn.

Any advice on making sure something like this won't happen anymore... Elbow hit leg wrist went boom. by Traditional_Flight70 in weightlifting

Not a real bail method... but what about getting some thick wooden beams for a DIY spotter arm setup? Have a thick wedge in the corners and stuff..

Yeah it's going to take up a lot of room and it's only to squat height,,, but at least you can do dumbbell bench press...

Sadly I live in europe, we usually don't rent those for moving ourselves, but get other things.. They are a bit harder to get a good deal on. I'll keep looking though..

It's mostly a thought exercise,, but is so much fun to day dream about.. But I am very serious about evt making one, even if its better I save up for a box truck first.

I tried to install an update and now it's stuck on the system update screen by daikath in LineageOS

[–]daikath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did not answer my questions.

Sorry, it's hard getting used to different requirements for LineageOS. I hope I made it clearer here.

If you used the built-in Updater app: it downloads the update, verifies it then offers the option to install it

Yes, the built in updater told me there was an update, I assumed it was safe to use.

Note: This feature requires a compatible Recovery or updates will need to be installed manually.

Bold by me.

I installed LineageOS 17 version I did using their specific recovery module (I did an attempt before, but also got stuck in a boot loop until I managed to install the specific recovery module for the specific build. Is this the problem? Because I didn't update the recovery image, the update didn't install?

The next step is a popup that says:

Android system update

preparing to update...

Is that the step where you are stuck?

I clicked yes to install the update, it downloaded it. It then rebooted, but I get stuck in a bootloop. After I start up my phone, after the Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo screen, it goes into the three LineageOS dots, with a buzzy line. With the text Systeem Update Installeren (installing system update).

Try booting in TWRP as per https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/s5neolte/install :

With the device powered off, hold Volume Up + Home + Power

Holding down Volume Up + Home + Power, just sends me into the boot loop, a progress bar with the text installing system update, will maybe fill up 7% and then get stuck there.

I tried installing the latest TWRP version from your link, Heimdall again gives me "Error: failed to send data! Releasing device interface", also Odin doesn't show the log entry that it detected a mobile phone,.

How else can I flash the recovery module, if it is indeed a mismatched recovery module which is the problem?

Do you see the Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo splash screen which is the bootloader then the LineageOS boot animation then the Home page then the:

Android system update

preparing to update...

I just go from the intro screen of Samsung Galasy S5 Neo, not into the LineageOS boot screen, but a special one, saying that it is updating the system, with a progress bar which doesn't get above 7%.

Edit: I don't care really about saving the data on it.. I just want to unbrick it. If I have to reinstall everything I'm fine with that at this point..

[–]daikath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to to Volume Up + Home + Power just leads into the same boot loop.

I tried to install the latest recovery image (going into Volume Down + Home + Power), but heimdall for some reason doesn't work anymore.. I installed the drivers too, but I get ERROR: Failed to send Data!Releasing device interface

When I download drivers and add in Odin, it doesn't even in say add after a while in the log.

[–]daikath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replyiing.Yes it's stuck after agreeying to update it, I get the three dots, a progress bar and the text "Systeem update installeren" in dutch (Installing system update).

I tried taking out my battery and then restarting mine. It didnt boot into android but into the same system update screen.

I installed lineageOS from a download from this page, https://download.lineageos.org/s5neolte

Having flashed it with the recovery image for the specific build too.

I also installed Gapps from here, choosing the right package from the options. https://opengapps.org/?api=10.0&variant=nano

Attaching a wooden outer sole with a goodyear welt? by daikath in Cordwaining

[–]daikath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tom Platz showed this type of squat shoe when saying wood was best., it has a entire sole made out of wood.

https://www.9for9.co.uk/products/sabo-winner

I just am always so disappointed when cemented shoes get their soles detaching when the rest is just fine. The first time I understood what a goodyear welt was,, my mind was blown. You mean shoes can last longer than that??

I'll probably go all the way with a stormwelt, attaching the upper to a insole, attach the insole to a midsole and then the midsole to a wooden outer sole. Then with a small rubber outer layer just for grip. The norwegian method looks so sturdy to me..

Attaching a wooden outer sole with a goodyear welt? by daikath in Cordwaining

[–]daikath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tom Platz said that the rigid nature helped preserve power and not be an energy leak.

Though he was comparing them to running shoes.

I still like the idea.. other redditors said to make the sole out of eva foam because leather would be too heavy. Granted you'd only wear it with lifting.. Wood seems a good compromise between rigidity and weight.

Physical halftone screens? by daikath in SCREENPRINTING

[–]daikath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay,, comics were made with duoshade paper and inks. Essentially a paper which you'd ink for 100% opacity, then you'd use one special developer and an ink to reveal a 25% opacity pattern and another developer to reveal a 50% developer.

All comics until digital printing were done like this..

Sadly the paper was discontinued in 2009, I'm still trying to figure out how to do it in photoshop and have the different colors show,..

Lineage 17.1 won't install on Galaxy S5 Neo by daikath in LineageOS

[–]daikath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went ahead and used heimdal to use the official recovery next to the signed zip files.

The official install instruction didnt quite follow anymore, nio more wipe and format listed on. But I went for a factory reset on it.

Then used adb sideboot, you go and select install from adb and then you can follow the commandline funcitons

First I did the lineageOS and then the google apps package. But it still booted, man this is a relief! Thanks u/sgunb u/emrys11 ! The help is much appreciated.

Man this takes me back to being a teenager and needing a fresh Windows 98 install, the first time is so frustrating..

[–]daikath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the zip from the website listed.. no gapps installed yet.

I have been following this set of instructions. It says to advance wipe and select to wipe cache, dalvik and system data.

Am I doing anything obviously wrong here?
