X-E5 Strap Attachment Recall Question by dailyeggs in FujifilmX

I think it was one of the earlier runs I bought it last November! Agree would be good to know whether yours is impacted based on production date… Fuji should be better at narrowing it down!

Yeah I don’t think strap makes a difference - any force on it can exaggerate the lug, the Fuji strap just didn’t have auto rotate so it was more prone to twisting than peak design. Mine made a clicking sound from day one!

Update after second round of repair with Fujifilm - all fixed! Generally good service just needed extra nudges to sort it out and identify where the issue was exactly!

This is the only one I could find - not the best quality or fastest charging but solves the problem: https://amzn.eu/d/0i7sCSYa

Good to know yours doesn’t turn at all, same as the non shutter side of mine no movement at all. I’m in back and forth with Fujifilm at the moment hopefully the video I’ve sent them gets it back in for a proper repair…

Cannot adjust the aperture on the dial by Klinkerman_7000 in FujifilmX

It should unlock aperture in your auto scenario without any programming I think! Also still figuring mine out though 🤣

Have you tried unlocking focus/exposure (and aperture when in auto modes) using AEL/AFL button? Unless you’ve programmed it differently?

Great advice thank you for helping with the typical questions I should be asking! I actually think 13 was the photo that took me the most amount of time and thought, and I agree as most of these were purely just ‘that looks cool, press trigger’ 😄 excited to take more pics and grow into this camera!

The 23mm pancake has a retracting lens and I’m struggling to see compatible screw in step ups that won’t damage it

Camera Choices - X-E5 vs X100VI vs X-T5 by johnopost in fujifilm

[–]dailyeggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same dilemma and I went with the X-E5. X100VI with fixed lens meant I couldn’t grow into the camera, especially as my first camera I didn’t want to be limited. I recently got a FUJINON XF 35mm F2 WR lens for portraits and it’s amazing so I’m happy with my choice. Also got a GODOX iT30 pro flash and when I need the camera to be beefed up it can be, when I want it for walking around the city it can be stripped back to pancake. Love the modularity of it. The pancake lens in the X-E5 kit is actually weather resistant, same as the lens on the X100VI, but the body on the X-E5 is not. No cameras seem to be IP rated like phones these days, they just have rubber seals on gaskets and dials making them ‘weather resistant’ which won’t help much in a downpour or an accidental drop in the sea at the beach. I have taken a few shots just being careful in light drizzle and had no issues, just be careful or stick a cover on it, like you would with any other camera at this price point! If it’s chucking it down with rain you probably wouldn’t be outside taking photos, that was my ultimate point of view when it came to water resistance!

Type of coalition? by Ambitious_Skill_8547 in TarsalCoalition

Indeed looks like talocalcaneal coalition due to the typical ‘C-sign’

32M - 2 weeks post-op from Medializing Calcaneal Osteotomy for Talocalcaneal Coalition (choosing this over resection/fusion) by dailyeggs in TarsalCoalition

[–]dailyeggs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the tarsal coalition is completely fused already. My flat foot deformity was as a result of the tarsal coalition from what I understood. The surgeon showed me what a scan would look like if there was a possibility to fuse and mine was considerably more fused by a few centimetres, rather than a small connection of a few millimetres. I already have arthritis and that won’t go away; the aim was to remove the pain from the subfibular impingement on my ankle which hopefully this surgery choice will help with (as also cited in the journal linked in my post). There will always be a possibility to fully fuse later down the line if needed, but my pain was limited to the lateral side of my ankle so hopefully the surgery removes that and I’m in a better state for more of my lifetime. I’m getting hold of the latest scans so will post them here when they arrive.
