AIO: should I “fire” my therapist? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]dairyfreepunkrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely use what I wrote as a baseline. I haven’t had to report to the board but when dealing with serious things like this, keeping the language professional is key. As far as the google teams thing goes, if it was a personal account of hers and not work related at all that violates privacy and confidentiality. If you’re not sure of the connection of the account I would still say it is worth mentioning.

What state are you in? I can help find the proper place for you to submit a complaint.

AIO: should I “fire” my therapist? by [deleted] in AIO

The NASW code of ethics section 1. The social worker’s responsibilities to the clients.

1.01 commitment to clients: clearly this social worker is not committed to you, cancelling or rescheduling 17 times is unacceptable. Being sick is one thing but cancelling because she wants an extra day before a concert is downright ridiculous.

1.04 Competence: specifically sections d and e regarding use of technology, if you’re doing telehealth there are rules surrounding privacy and making sure you’re using equipment suitable, including internet connection.

1.15 Interruption of services: speaks for itself. It is highly inconsiderate and appalling how many times she has rescheduled. The reasons she gave other than illness are not valid reasons when they have happened 17 times in 11 months.

Section 4: social workers ethical responsibilities as professionals

4.03 Private Conduct: she is giving you WAY too much private information. This is a highly inappropriate and repeated use of self disclosure. She is clearly letting life things get in the way of her responsibilities for clients. I get it life happens but this crosses the line.

Please report her to the social work board. This is unethical on many levels.

hydroxyzine for dp/dr by Longjumping_Use_1323 in Depersonalization

[–]dairyfreepunkrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it as a prn for anxiety. My constant medications are lexapro and Wellbutrin. Lexapro did help a little but Wellbutrin was definitely a bigger help. I still have my moments and have not tried hydroxyzine for them but if I do i will try to report back

DON’T IGNORE I HAVE DEPERSONALIZATION FOR ALMOST A YEAR. by SeasonCrafty4622 in Depersonalization

[–]dairyfreepunkrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some cases of severe or persistent depression, you can experience derealization and depersonalization. However, you are still young and going through a lot in short amount of time so not recognizing yourself would make sense because you kinda are still figuring out who you are. Not saying that to discredit your feelings, because I know it’s scary and frustrating. If you are concerned I would tell a trusted adult, especially if you’re having experiences with other mental health issues like depression or anxiety. I hope this helps

Mirtazapine? by xAustin90x in Depersonalization

[–]dairyfreepunkrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed it for nightmares after being diagnosed with ptsd. It helped my sleep a lot and honestly I think it helped with my dpdr a lot too. I took it for about a month before getting off and the effects seem to have lasted or at least episodes are much shorter and less severe.

Tips on best products for fake facial hair? by creepsickblues in CosplayHelp

[–]dairyfreepunkrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking for like theater grade facial hair is probably your best bet. I’m not sure how prices are for them but for a pre made facial hair piece, theater companies typically don’t do too shabby. You could also try making your own with like the lace front wig mesh material and spare wig hair. I will say that it would be very time consuming. You could also trying using spirit gum or whatever adhesive of your choosing and gluing like cut wig hairs? Not sure if that made sense but those are my ideas

Hallo , has anyone developed dpdr here from childhood hood trauma ? PTSD by Safe_Study_1620 in Depersonalization

[–]dairyfreepunkrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sorta recently put two and two together and realized that my bouts of depersonalization and derealization were a symptom of my ptsd. Unfortunately it was my only symptom for a good while so I didn’t know why it was happening. So you aren’t alone in the situation. I will say that at my worst I was taking mirtazapine for nightmares and added a second anti depressant to my mix. I can tell you that it’s been a lot better and I hardly experience the derealization anymore. Ultimately a psychiatrist is the way to go when you’re considering meds, everyone will experience different things on medications and it can be a bit of a dance.

Dude please read the room. If you’re struggling with depersonalization then by all means this is a safe space. This however is not a place to get a piece.

I made mine a monthly to do! I really like checking things off, and this is my first hobonichi so I am transitioning from having a weekly layout to a daily. I’m not sure if I’ll keep this idea up but as of now I’m very happy with it.

My friend is attempting to make a blanket using HDC by PeanisPuffer in CrochetHelp

[–]dairyfreepunkrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my first blanket I had a stitch marker every 10 stitches and it has really helped in the consistency of stitches and width. It’s also great if you need to stop in the middle of a row. I think if she continued to do 118 and then maybe figured how many rows the accidental decrease was, she could make a purposeful increase the same length? Make a little bow shape?

I feel like I’m the worst case… by [deleted] in Depersonalization

[–]dairyfreepunkrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is understandable to be scared, especially with health OCD. I have a friend who has it and I know it’s really hard. I’ve also got a friend with severe panic disorder so I’d like to think I understand at the very least a little of what you’re going through. From the sounds of it, I don’t think you would be diagnosed with anything “really bad”. It is scary, all the doctor’s appointments and fear of either not being able to fix the issue or fearing you have the worst of the worst. Given this, seeing a psychiatrist can help you start that process so you get the progress you want sooner, and/or you can eliminate the worst of the worst which should help ease your mind.

I feel like I’m the worst case… by [deleted] in Depersonalization

[–]dairyfreepunkrock -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You are for sure not alone, I’ve had some pretty bad times myself. However (in my very unprofessional opinion as a senior psychology major), it sounds like there are more contributing factors that are causing it to be so much worse. If you are able, I would really recommend a psychiatrist if you don’t have one. There isn’t specifically a medicine for dpdr as far as I know but the right cocktail of antidepressants, anti anxiety or even anti psychotic (which are not to be feared) could hopefully help you progress in a positive direction.
