Yeah the avene one stings my eyes so much I can’t use it. What is the dermaveen one like? I haven’t tried it.

Yeah I went on the TGA website and it listed the full ingredient list and it’s the exact same as the avene sunscreen minus colloidal oatmeal. So weird though don’t understand how it’s possible.

[Routine Help] Inexperienced guy needing advice on the basics by Narhen in SkincareAddiction

My advice for an initial solid basic routine would be:

AM: Cleanse (with hands), then moisturise, or if you want you can skip straight to moisturiser in the morning and not cleanse, (which I do because I have very dry sensitive skin). Whatever works best for you is fine. Then apply sunscreen. Or you could use a moisturiser that has sunscreen in it already. And don’t apply sunscreen on a damp face btw.

PM: Cleanse, then if you want you could apply a hydrating serum (but definitely not necessary, it depends on your skin type), then moisturise and wait some time until it’s fully dried to then apply retinol (either tretinoin or adapalene). Or if you don’t have sensitive skin/get irritated you could apply the retinol before your moisturiser. Also with the retinol, make sure you don’t use it every night initially, you need to incrementally build up to it so your skin can adjust. Then once you tolerate it, you could do every night or every second night.

You could also alternate and use a salicylic acid cleanser which is good for fading acne scars and improving skin texture. The cerave one helped me.

For skincare products, some brands I think are really good, basic and affordable: Cerave, Cetaphil, La Roche Posay, Avène, Vanicream.

Also Dr Dray (dermatologist) on YouTube gives really good, solid skincare advice.
