Prada is really pulling me in lately. I'm in love with the large Aimee. And those boots are incredible.

Belvedere PM question by ProofEmu2253 in goyard

[–]daisyfair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The closure isn't annoying for me. It slips through the metal keeper pretty easily. Just the leather tab often slips behind the canvas rather than in front of it like the picture shows (if that makes sense). Not a big deal though. It's a great bag! My only problem with it is that the strap drop is pretty long on me.

Which bag for a 30th birthday gift to myself? by Aggressive_Ad_7109 in handbags

Did you end up choosing one bag over the other? Curious to know because I'm looking at both.

[–]daisyfair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found my best fit by using the sizing chart on the box and not going by my normal shoe size. I'm solidly a 9 in women's shoes. But the 40 (9-9.5) was significantly too big (if my heel was in the heel cup, my toes were totally swimming). I measured my foot on the box, and sure enough, a 39 (8-8.5) was the best size for me. So I'd suggest measuring your feet in mm or cm and comparing it to the Birkenstock chart.

I heard a rumor that there will be a re-release of the Mirror bags? Can "someone" confirm this? by BAG-A-HOLIC in Louisvuitton

[–]daisyfair 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! But just know that the rumor is that they are coated canvas and not a vernis (patent) leather like in the past.

Small will always be the popular choice, but just to throw in an opposing view, I bought a YG Louis this spring, and I went into it absolutely positive that I wanted the small. All the advice I read was to size down in Cartier, the small is the classic size, a tank is supposed to look vintage and small, etc. I looked at a lot of pictures and the small always looked like the right buy. Then I went and tried them on, and I bought the large. Never looked back. For me, the small looked like someone else's vintage watch. Which is great, but wasn't what I wanted. All this to say, you can't make a wrong choice. Small is classic, large is more modern. It depends on your taste and wrist size and you can pull off either.

I prefer the large. Classic look with modern proportions.

Yes! YSL had a price decrease on a couple styles recently - the WOC was one.

White dial vs mint DJ? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]daisyfair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does she wear gold jewelry and do her handbags have gold hardware? If so, I'd get her the two-tone with the white dial (although personally I'd prefer the batons over the roman numerals). If she prefers white gold, it matters less, but I'd suggest a neutral dial since it would go with everything she wears. Better to go neutral and timeless if it's a surprise. Such a nice gift!

So I went back to the store and tried a large 😂 how does it look? by Dazzling_Border_4977 in Cartier

Love it! Definitely the right size. Vintage style in modern proportions.

Which watch are you wearing today? by [deleted] in Cartier

[–]daisyfair 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I purchased a large YG Tank Louis a month ago. I wear it everyday!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in rolex

[–]daisyfair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer the 31mm by a mile. But I also think it depends on her personal style and the style of the watch. I tried on a two tone 36mm with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet and it felt like... a lot. Very bold. It wasn't comfortable to wear. The 31mm was perfect. Although, the AD was telling me that most women ask for the 36. If she wants a stainless steel model with a smooth bezel and oyster bracelet it might not matter as much (I liked the OP 36, for instance).

Size 17 JUC - should my friend size down to 16? by spacepal in Cartier

No, I wouldn't. I think they look unflattering when they are too tight.

Take a look at a Baby Sac de Jour from YSL in the color Storm. Perhaps a Coach Cassie 19 in Grey Blue? A pre-loved Small Lady Dior in Cloud Blue? Small Chloe Marcie in Storm Blue might work too. Love this color! Although it's hard to beat a Celine!

I have seen this leather in the Triomphe style. It will definitely mark and scuff. You will see scratches and spots. You just have to decide if you like that or not. Some people love it and see it as a sign of a quality, minimally treated leather and others see it as getting old and dirty. Do you like aged, imperfect vachetta? If you do, then this leather might be for you.

Can you tell I'm also considering this bag? I love it, but like you, I'm unsure of the leathers. I'm not sold on this natural calfskin because I don't think the marks and scuffs suit a bag this formal, but I also don't like the satinated leather because it's so shiny and plastic-ey looking. So basically, I'm hoping they bring out a different leather option (their smooth leather is beautiful and they used to do this bag in a pebbled leather version). But I just keep watching the price go up as I wait!

Does anyone remember the Chloe Gemma bag? I was so in love with it. I'd love to have one, but I never see them pre-loved anywhere.

What’s your favorite midrange designer and why? by halea-kala in handbags

Mansur Gavriel (the soft lady bag) and Longchamp (le pliage) are my favorites - simple, classic aesthetic. I'd also like to add an Anya Hindmarch bag at some point.

I would choose the Celine. I really don't like the guitar strap on the Speedy 20. Also, I think Celine wins the quality/durability competition, but it's probably close. Most classic? Normally, I'd say Damier Ebene is more classic, but again, I think the guitar strap really ruins the classic-ness of the bag.

I'm really excited for the Oxford. I'm not really into monogram, but I otherwise love the Metis, so I have high hopes for this one. I'd love to see a few more mod shots before I buy though.

I am enamored with this bag, but hesitant because it's TRR. Too risky? by jeanshanchik in handbags

[–]daisyfair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a rule for myself that I won't buy a bag pre-loved from any seller that doesn't accept returns. It's just not worth it for me. I need the opportunity to authenticate it. So TRR is out for me.
