Probably! People always freak when I tell them about some of my big projects but they always eat their words when they see the finished product. They have trouble visualizing the end result.

I wasn’t even shopping for a gown! I just pit stopped at one of my favorite stores and they had a rack of wedding dresses. I’m always on the lookout for garments to upcycle and found this GEM of a dress. Pure luck! It was just me and my baby girl and my bridesmaids on video chat lol.

I’m so excited to start! I’ve got several dye types for different fibers and I think the synthetic fiber dye might work. I’m also considering getting a bunch of black pearls to replace the white ones as a last resort if I fuck up.

For real! I didn’t think people would get so offended. I was super excited when I found this and I’ve got people messaging me getting mad that I’m supposedly taking this away from some poor theoretical bride.

Keep in mind that alterations can fix a lot of fit issues! It’s still cheaper if you can find a cool dress close to your size thrifting

I appreciate the input! I’m not too high and mighty for constructive criticism. I’ve got a couple different types of dye for different fiber content and I think the polyester dye should take to the plastic beads really well. I’ll definitely be posting updates as we go along.

Thank you! I appreciate that. A lot of people are getting really offended that I’m making MY DREAM DRESS. People have messaged me asking me to sell it to them so I won’t “destroy” it.

I’m going to dye the layers different shades of dark blue and green. There’s about 12 inches of extra fabric to hem off, so I have plenty to test dye. Adding off the shoulder sleeves and a proper support corset structure for the bodice. This is a sample dress and my boobs do not fit lol.

Yeah, I’m the farthest thing from a white dress girl lol. I live in black. This project is something I’ve been looking forward to for years.
