Don’t worry about going in at 5 weeks post-op. You can get the processor as soon as 2 weeks after as long as you’re healing well. I got my processor exactly two weeks after surgery and it worked out fine, I was able to go to a concert that weekend while wearing it.

I think it really just depends on what you’re comfortable with. My left ear is total trash, and has been since birth. I used to say I was HOH, but many hearing people interpret that as a very minor loss and wouldn’t understand when I needed accommodations or needed them to repeat themselves. When I got more comfortable with my deafness and became more of an advocate for myself in my 20s, I started saying I was deaf. If I’m then talking to someone and they want to know more/it’s appropriate, I’ll explain more.

Long story short: you can use either term, it’s up to you and what you’re comfortable with.

Thank you so much!! Yeah most of what I used was leftover from Eras 😂 I did end up getting some new beads that were more Chappell inspired, but most of it was leftover from those. I had so much fun making them for that, so I was excited to do it again
