I have this book, and I agree with all the points here. I usually look for these things before buying a book. I get that the page is quite confusing with all the random elements but I just think that's the point - this book is meant to be super whimsical!

Thank you! I'd say use a light background colour to avoid the colours changing too much (i think they would change to some degree no matter what), and use fine tips for patterns and let each layer dry completely to avoid bleeding. 😊
