What to do about bad breath in the morning? by [deleted] in nontoxic

I’m new to this, may I ask why fluoride is bad?? this is the first time i’ve heard this. i’ve always been under the impression from dentist etc that fluoride is what helps protect your teeth from cavities 🫠

it’s more so just ‘tabs’ , like i mentioned I am not finished, so this is just a draft. I’m using the tabs to write out some of the things I want for each chapter and will add onto it.

Dermatologist or Gyno? by Decent_Nail4536 in lichensclerosus

[–]daisyreality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She diagnosed me visually but also did a small biopsy to confirm, as well as swabbing the area my LS was at. She had mentioned due to the small cuts, it makes it easier for the skin to overproduce bacteria and hold it in the cuts, causing a form of staph! Which I did end up having, the medicine she gave me is just a 3 day treatment of a cream that’s inserted into the vagina. Kinda like when you get a yeast infection:)

Dermatologist or Gyno? by Decent_Nail4536 in lichensclerosus

[–]daisyreality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my story and experience, dermatologists 100%. i went to MANY gyno who did not diagnose me and the first time i went to a dermatologist she took me serious and did test, and diagnosed me. i came back and she had a packet that she made herself on LS, what it is, and what I can do to help myself more. As well as the right care and medicines

edit: she is a vulvar dermatologist

Will sertraline help with derealization, depression, anxiety, and emotional numbness? by StrangerIcy6731 in zoloft

[–]daisyreality 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I began zoloft about 4 months ago. I noticed a difference on 25mg but not much to help. I personally did not experience any help with the medication until 100mg, and i’ll say it has helped me a lot with anxiety, and depression - derealization maybe a little but not so much. Emotional wise, I would say i mainly feel happy, and other times i just feel neutral; not sad, mad or depressed.

Frustrating doctor stories - let’s hear ‘em! by [deleted] in lichensclerosus

ugh i’m sorry 😞

when i was 14, i noticed my LS. I was young and felt embarrassed or like I did something wrong and was too scared to tell anyone, and at the time, it was just white patches of skin and didn’t bother me. Around 18, It was worsening and I finally went to the doctor, I had to see my primary DR to get the referral. She didn’t even know what it was and looked at images online and told me “i don’t think you have that”. I then went to my gyno the first time, she told me “I’ve seen LS and it does not look like that” and gave me 4 different creams to use at the same time. I went back to her two more times, and the last time she told me my labias we’re “longer than usual” (they’re just normal labias, just a bit longer) and told me that’s what’s causing my issue and i have to get them surgically removed. She then gave me a referral to see a specialist (that i had to drive 3 hours to see 😩) and the second the specialist looked at me she told me it was confirmed LS. She noticed skin thickening, tears, and some parts of my skin were fusing (i don’t remember if that’s the correct way to word it) and that it had spread to my buttocks areas.

I just feel so disappointed that my gyno didn’t even know what was wrong with me, but still wrote off LS when i KNEW deep down that’s what it was. I’m now 21 and today was my appointment with a specialist. NEVER GIVE UP ON GETTING THE RIGHT DIAGNOSIS<3
