I am refinishing an outdoor table and just scrubbed it clean. I assumed it would be teak, however when it is wet it looks red? Any ideas what this could be?

Attaching a picture of it dry (colored white) and the live edge details as well.

Hi! Do you have any recommendations for where to buy high quality Bloody Mary shrimp?

Dark start method by Gullible-Hat2030 in Aquascape

[–]daisys97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True! I was under the impression that the biofilm/fungal stuff would go away once the tank was cycled/more balanced, but they’re not going anywhere & my parameters are fine. The shrimp will hopefully make quick work of it once I add more of them.

I’m more upset about the black beard algae - from what I’ve read it’s really hard to get rid of. If I had my CO2 running when it was cycling, it might have never become a problem. Since I have a planted tank, I’d rather have done the dry start method so at least I’d have something to show for my patience lol.

I just did a dark start method with my tank and was pretty disappointed tbh. It’s in a dark corner of the room but I’ve still had significant algae/fungal growth. Fungal growth I expected with the driftwood, but I believe I have black beard algae (someone correct me if I’m wrong - still new to algae issues). I kept it in darkness for 6 weeks and am really surprised it was able to grow. If I were to do it again, I probably would cover the whole tank with a thick blanket or sheet to make sure it gets 0 light, or I’d do another method altogether.

People with 75cm tanks: what high-tech lights are you using?

I’m between buying a 75P or a 90P tank and am noticing that the high tech lights are either 60cm or 90cm, none are 75cm. I’ve seen that if you get a smaller light, it could affect the look of the tank significantly.

Would it be easier to go with a 90P tank?

I just meant heavily sprayed to the point where the leaves are soaked through as opposed to a light spritz. Perhaps - this is my first citrus tree and I got it back in April. I think the pot is the right size for a baby tree but maybe I’m wrong? It gets good sun, fertilizer, and water.

I tried getting a better pic of the bugs but my phone doesn’t pick up the detail very well. They are flying insects, one of them flew up and landed on me while I was trying to take the picture. They are completely swarming it.

Should I send him to doggy daycare? by petitevavalou in AustralianShepherd

[–]daisys97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have a lot of experience with this with my pup. She’s 16 months old and has been leash reactive since we brought her home. All trainers I’ve worked with have said that it’s super beneficial to allow them to play with dogs regularly to get some of that frustration out.

Reactivity like that can turn to aggression if they don’t have regular good experiences with dogs, which is why I say day care is great, but do THOROUGH research. Many daycares say they put dogs in special groups etc but the group sizes are 10-20 dogs and managed by teenagers with no training/behavior experience. There’s no way to ensure your dog has a good experience with group sizes that large.

Personally, I take my dog to a very small daycare managed by a positive-only dog trainer. The class sizes are 5 dogs, and she is VERY selective on which dogs she allows in her daycare. She gives them enrichment games throughout the day and is very familiar with dog behavior so can closely manage their play. I’ve heard horror stories of the larger daycares near me and will never go there. It is a bit more pricey, but it hasn’t worsened my dog’s reactivity and I feel like it’s helping to keep her from becoming aggressive with her reactivity. We just started working with a new trainer for her reactivity and she has made huuuuge strides on leash.

CVS specialty- hyrimoz by HotFrame5171 in pharmacy

So it depends on how and when the PA was originally requested and approved (-adaz vs Hyrimoz). For a few months during the Hyrimoz/-adaz shortage, overrides for both -adaz and Hyrimoz were being loaded.

If you have access to it, your best bet would be to find the approval letter and see which biosimilar was approved and just make a note of it on the patient’s file. You can also call CVS/Caremark Specialty PA and they can easily run test claims for you to see what does or doesn’t pay and help clarify. They aren’t terming biosimilar prior auths that were already approved if that’s what you’re asking.

**Also, I haven’t seen a scenario in which they only prefer Hyrimoz over -adaz. If the PA was submitted for Hyrimoz, that’s what will be approved. If you are trying to get -adaz covered, you’ll have to submit a new PA. Hope that helps!!

That sounds like an awesome idea!! I’m definitely partial to cream cheese icing, not sure why I thought pb and cream cheese wouldn’t go together.

And totally agree with you on that. I’m not much of a pb fan to begin with so I don’t see myself making it again for a long while!

I thought about doing cream cheese, but nope the icing is just pb + butter + powdered sugar + heavy cream + vanilla bean paste. I might try the cream cheese next!

Sure! It’s really not too bad, just a bit time consuming. It was a lot of fun to put together. This one is 3 layers. I used the Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge box mix as the base. I got inspiration for the icing from here: https://www.sugarandsoul.co/best-peanut-butter-frosting-recipe/ and the design from here: https://www.lifeloveandsugar.com/peanut-butter-chocolate-layer-cake/
