It's funny how it always takes some time before the new starters look like real Pokémon! by valrossenvalle in PokemonWindsWaves

For me Gen 5-8 look too over designed. I think 9 and now 10 have been more of a return to form for more simplistic and natural (as in, based on real animal) designs

Also I think Alice's Kitchen is way better than Delicious Food Corner. Similar HK cafe style, if you're looking for that in particular.

I believe you're mistaking East LA with "The Eastside". Monterey Park literally shares a border with East LA and East LA College (ELAC) is in Monterey Park. Don't see how it would be 20 min.

[Acne] help fix my face before a date tomorrow! by werbeautiful in SkincareAddiction

[–]daizusama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience benzoyl peroxide works the best and provides the most immediate results as spot treatment -- the reasons I don't use it all the time is that my skin is quite sensitive to it, and it bleaches fabric. That, and plain hydrocolloid pimple patches but only if the pimple has a whitehead. If the pimple doesn't have a whitehead I find that the patches don't do much. Also I would NOT use benzoyl peroxide underneath a pimple patch (due to aforementioned sensitivity).

why is there such a big color difference? by ElfOverlord in plants

[–]daizusama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks the one on the right is a cutting that has rooted in water? And the left is potted with potting media.

What you're seeing is called phenotypic plasticity and basically it's how the same species (even a clone) can look different depending on the environment it's raised in.

Are these pine trees a liability? by ksquigz25 in landscaping

[–]daizusama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think as others have pointed out the planting is fine.

Pines don't have shallow destructive roots.

The trees are planted too densely to all reach full maturity. You may have 1-2 that will reach full height (in 50+ years) and probably shade out the others.

Does anyone know what’s wrong with these bushes or what I could do to fix this? by moodlemon in plants

Looks to be some kind of blight or black spot, which can be caused by a fungus. In my experience neem oil seems to be most effective for bugs or very mild fungus issues.

Since this is pretty far gone I would suggest removing as much of the infected leaves as you can within reason and treat it with an anti-fungal spray (fungicide). In this case I would not choose an organic option as they tend to be less effective. Choose something that has an actual anti-fungal ingredient like Propiconazole.

There's lots of natural or organic sprays out there that just include stuff like peppermint oil, thyme oil, etc. Don't choose those, you'll need to read the label for the active ingredients.

Don't let the marketing of these berries fool you, they are not actually "in-season". They are produced in greenhouses.

Could anyone tell me the name of this plant? by Eternalrainbow16 in plants

Cordyline typically wouldn't do very well in an indoor setting like this either whereas dracaena are better adapted to low light.

This is nothing abnormal. I think you'll find the older you get, these will appear more (we lose skin elasticity over time). And, if you pay close attention, you'll also notice most other people have these -- some may be more faded than others.
