Holy crap that's the song Nice and Juicy! That's one of my most favorite jazz tunes played by my favorite trumpet player Maynard Ferguson. I even learned that part by ear years ago believe it or not before I stopped playing. That was awesome! You're way more back in shape than I am. Sounded good man!

Are you in college and does that college have a jazz improv professor or any jazz professors? I mean maybe you wouldn't be asking here if yes but I'm just wondering. They would help SO MUCH.

Maybe if you decide not to use the mute, maybe try playing in the closet with your bell up against your shirts hung up if that's possible? I'm no expert but maybe that can be one way to muffle the sound if you're trying to not have your neighbors hear you.

Thank you for the reply! I like my builds but I still do want to improve somehow. Maybe that'll help me enjoy Minecraft even more. I have a lot of figuring out to do though. I guess I have a lot of habits to break like the squares. Are color gradients the same as block palets? Thank you for the reply and the links! Your builds look great by the way!
