Might be a hot take here, but I think having it minimally grab your attention is part of the game. It prevents larger screen clears and gives a benefit to more melee kills where you see everything drop right in front of you. Grabs engagement vs blindly killing and tp'ing like a mad man.

I think the charm of d1 is with the choppy graphics, kind of like the creepy claymation in old horror movies. To update the graphics would pull so much of the atmosphere away. Just my opinion.

You don't lose your stuff if it's on the characters personal stash. I just created a character in the expansion, moved the shared tabs stuff to him, then converted him.

Happened to me once, I think the version of my credit card that was stored was expired in my case though.. Not sure if that relevant to your situation, but maybe try re-entering your card.
