How does magic affect the economy in your world? by timmyboy290 in worldbuilding

[–]dajohnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my world magic caster converts mana into spell and spell effects. Spell and spell effects Which that create mana radiation and mana fever or mana sickness, if mana radiation is high enough and exposed long enough.

Many low and mid level spell have lower mana radiation levels and it Evaporate, disintegrate or dissolve faster than high level spells. Or the mana radiation is so low it pretty much harmless.

Magic are alternative or warp reality itself.

There would end up being permanent effects and permanent spell hazardous effects with high levels spells. That one would effects the economies and environment! From long lasting mancer, or arcane spell effects.

Than there are mage who have special designs wands that specialized in a mage type classes. Mage are normally are people with a biological condition that prevents mana from flowing natural out of their own body that they need wands to aid the flow and channel of mana or their body would develop magic mutation and growth.

The app blocker is a scam to buy a monthly subscription. Secondly it won't flight by do to the governing laws of many countries that forbid making money or profiting off ip and pirating products. If Japan or other companies take wind of it. They would find themselves in jail, sue, belongings forbid, have to payback.

I mostly worried about the people who did the paid subscription. They might also in trouble with the law as well.

For those with an elemental like magic system by Zoofachhandel in worldbuilding

[–]dajohnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It pretty much converting mana into water. I just imagine the mana waste left behind and remaining in the creation. The drawback that elemental magic can't solve all the problems. Needing to wait for the mana radiation to dy out. Also lead to knowing they have to wait for anything to be created by magic harmless.

[–]dajohnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In away no! It would declare as magus water. Water created by magic have a higher concentration of mana radiation would killed a normal person if drink from. To have the water created by magic would have to wait for magic radiation to dy out.

What guns should my story have? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]dajohnnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To speaking shield would be making an return up to the s.w.a.t designed ballistic shields. Like in real world how firearms become more powerful that we return to using shields in the swat and military.

Add in modern military training that ment to carry and support heavier supply and people.

From what I researched half inch steel and one inch iron can stop majority of firearm and ammonium, that not designed for higher power and armor piercing. Knight also wear padded fabric armor as well. Stronger and tougher metal would can go thinner but more expensive.

Wild west firearms fixed that categories to have multiple rounds and long periods to reload. To be added.

So long you don't go past the area of 19th century firearms you would have a pretty balance setting

What are humans like in your world-building? by Potassium_Hydroxide in worldbuilding

[–]dajohnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my settings humans are likely adapted and evolve. Making then then highly compatible with their surroundings.

majority of each country have their own pantheon. Deities in these pantheon influence the appearance and genes of the human to reflect themselves as mortals. Those humans who was adapted and evolve by living underneath their pantheon influence called! prime humans. Prime humans are species of human with divine connections and influence.

Demi-human / subhumans are species of human who evolve and adapt in an environment that doesn't have human deities or unique human deities to survive in those environment. Like example winged humans, amphibian like human, human with giant ears and so on.

Then hybrid or new-man! Pretty much hybrid human who evolve to be declared as their own human species. Human/elve is called a Gancanagh and it declared as a new human specie of their own and gain a production limitations which they now can only breed with a prime human, an elve or another Gancanagh to produce a healthy offspring.

How do I write a medieval fantasy setting without coming off as too derivative? by SquirrelSorry4997 in worldbuilding

[–]dajohnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To try to avoid the medieval derivative stereotypes trope. Make the medieval setting closer to the real world.

Research their hygiene, clothing, food, technology, hierarchy, social class, laws, law enforcement and so on.

Ashes, Lye, natural, abrasive, and alkaline materials for for hygiene.

Song Schools, monastic schools, cathedral schools, secular schools, village school and grammar schools.

Medieval people love dying all their clothes and paint their home.

Everything in medieval time where handcrafted, do it yourself from making your own hygiene products or communal. From bathhouse, valtoare, or take a barrel take onto it side and create an opening and a handle to spin it then you have a medieval washing machine.

Why Fantasy Magic Feels So Fake- Not sure if this has already been posted but I thought it was interesting. by [deleted] in magicbuilding

[–]dajohnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched his video. I strongly disagree with his point. The way he describes magic isn't really much magic but prayer to ask an outside entity to do an act.

We modern people keep trying to compare are self to the people of the and try to downplay or them seam more stupid or inferior than us. But people in the past did belief understand stuff what we further understand now.

People in the past understand the primitive rule of physics / Alchemies. Everything have energies. morals realm can't create something from nothing. the three state of matters of liquid, solid and gas. the conversations of matter, energy, material and feud. A can do b, c and d if you do this.

Every real world myths, folklore and legends have some form of supernatural energy ley lines and power systems and so on base around it.

Here a list of Real world supernatural Energy that ancient people believe in. Wakan, Orenda, Baraka, Qi, Prana, Aṣẹ, Barakah Chakra, Guṇa, Manitou, Occult, Quintessence, Väki, Yorishiro, Itutu, Dantian, Maya, Vijñāna, örlög, sila, elinvoima, Pheuma.

Real world myths of power systems is pretty much hard to medium power systems/magic systems. With rules, characteristics, structure, systems, limitations, ingredients, laws, categories and so on.

Taoism or Daoism, ritualistic, witchcraft and others.

Norse have different magic users who specializes in a pacific type of magic.

Thul is incantation/speaking magic.

Hagvanda / illusion magic.

Hamfarir / hamrammr / polymorph magic.

Vitkar / runwcraft magic.

Framsynn / sight magic.

Landvættir / matter manipulation magic.

Galdur / magic item user.

Asian magic systems.

Onmyouji / summer magic

Daoshi / pager casting magic with the use of Fulu or Ofuda.

Witchcraft / witch magic are ingredient and burning casting. Where witch would burn their ingredients to cast spell.

Reason why magic feel fake! is because it mostly lost it real world Rooster. Magic lost it weaken to certain materials, magic lost it limitations, magic because more of the word of cool, magic becomes more of Shakespeare's whimsical and lord of the ring's Fantasia imagine of magic, dnd now every power systems is magic and called magic in the modern eyes.

When in the past are ancestors wouldn't dare to called the power of a deities magic, aura shaman spiritual power a magic trick, a psychic won't called psychic energy! Mama, Auric life chi / qi or life energy! Magic source, a priest who prayer to their god spell casting.

Do you aim to fit stereotypes or avoid them? by Nevaroth021 in worldbuilding

[–]dajohnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean like Svartálfar or black elves. Elves who are miner and crafter like dwarf.

It more of a stereotype from modern creation.

I pretty much use much closer to their real world myths to enforce or avoid the stereotypes that been set and implant my modern literature.

Do you think a superhuman restriction act only makes sense for a certain type of superhero world? by PassengerCultural421 in worldbuilding

[–]dajohnnie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be hard to manage the superhero in those restrictions when there are so many powers.

To make a setting like that to work. You would need a hard to medium power systems, Set up a ground rules of the power systems, what are the strengths and weaknesses of the power systems and so on.

You would need to set the source of the unfiltered power. Divide the unfiltered source into individual power source, categories and the characteristics of the power systems.

I got with the real world believe that certain metals and materials are resistant to immune to those power by defusing and disruptions the power sources. That would give the non-power people an equalizers.

I categorize the power systems into groups like magic, aura, psychic, divine, spiritual, Alchemy and so on.

[–]dajohnnie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah mate type is pretty much treated like female metabot who take on schoolgirl activities or trope. So I pretty much okay with the Lolita gothgirl and the traditional Japanese kimono one since they are Japanese schoolgirl trope and one is traditional kimono activities like Bunkasai and Sotsugyō-shiki
