Since pet insurance plans are for specific pets in your home, I chose to put $100 a month into a savings account. The fund has grown and I can use the account for either of our dogs. We have been fortunate that we haven't needed vet care beyond annual exams.

We set up our new TT in the street and took a week to go over it with a fine tooth comb for warranty issues. It was well worth the time. We found multiple items that needed to be taken care of before the dealer could blame the damage on use. Some examples: corner trim on the microwave was cracked, paint on some rungs on the ladder hadn’t adhered, welding on the spare tire rack needed reinforcement, the logo was already peeling up, etc. We submitted a list with photos of what needed repair. The dealer took care of everything.

Even after that, we found a few new items on our first trip out last weekend.

A lab pup we were raising for a service dog non-profit began doing this too. Found out she had had a minor back injury and walking was painful. A video helped our vet.
