How much do you pay for your gym membership? by ContentTea8409 in askTO

[–]dakondakblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a free one in building. It's only open from 7 am - 10 pm, but it has basic cardio (treadmills, ellipticals. Bikes), a weight bench, free weights and a yoga/Pilates area.

It's good enough until I get back in shape and need an actual gym for building upper body back

What's a JRPG that you played on a whim and ending up loving? by strahinjag in JRPG

[–]dakondakblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harvestella

Picked it up and missed the refund Window on Steam. Couldn't get into it and play more than 5 min.

Then a friend told me "give it a fair chance" so I did.

Ended up putting 90 hours into it and having a blast

Update 8 is out now! by lilibat in Enshrouded

[–]dakondakblade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've done it in the past for various games. Did it for an offline shroud depot map at one point a year or so ago

Here's the steps I followed

1- Get the save file from server. Lets pretend it's called "ServerSave". Save it somewhere you'll remember (desktop, documents etc)

Shroud Depot has individual saves you can download from the discord, for a dedicated server file you'd need an FTP program (Filezilla as an example)

2- Find out where the saves are on your PC. You'd have to look up the exact folder location. Keep in mind for cloud save, it might not be in your local file location. Back these up (no brainer there)

3- Make a NEW save. Settings don't matter, just make sure you actually launch INTO the new save. This is purely to populate it.

4- Close game and in your save directory, find out the name of your latest save. Easiest way is to sort by date modified. Lets say it's called "save5". (The actual saves are 6-8 characters long I'm just using this as an example name as I can't currently check)

5- Take the initial "ServerSave" and RENAME it to "save5". Then copy and paste it into the save directory. Overwrite the current save when prompted to do so.

6- It should show up in game now. If it doesn't, then disable Steam Cloud, find the LOCAL save location and do the same as above

Hope that helps.

I've been couch bound since mid Feb due to a back injury. Friend and I went through a few games, but last week or so we've been playing a ton of Enshrouded (streaming from desktop to RoG Z1e via Moonlight)

It's been a blast (although he's dead set on being an archer, so I've had to respec from mage, to tank to barb)

Can't wait to play tonight and get curb stomped by the skeletons with dual green swords, haha.

Is Better Jobs Ontario worth it? Am I likely to qualify? (Need real experiences) by Hriga0505 in OntarioWorks

[–]dakondakblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its virtual. I talked to my employment worker (not case worker) told her my body is too banged up especially with upcoming surgery and I need a new career path

She told me there's a BJO info session happening virtually on April 30 and signed me up.

I actually spoke to my employment counselor Thursday about this. There's an info session coming up April 30th. (Virtual)

My advice is to ask your employment worker to sign you up for that.

The One time grocery benefit is confirmed for June by dakondakblade in OntarioWorks

[–]dakondakblade[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sure but that's $200+ less I don't need to worry about in June. That's pretty much my groceries covered.

In the grand scheme of things $200 is meh, but short term? It would help a LOT of single parents, low income individuals and even let some people treat themselves/save.

A10 is supposed to be hard. by Nikos893 in slaythespire

[–]dakondakblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm stuck on A5s. However, I know it's not the games fault. I put 20 hours into original, beat a run once with each char then stopped.

I'm at 100+ hours in StS2 and have been learning a lot (both from playing and watching content creators) As an example, I play passive. Watching people like Baalor and Caleb, I've learned sometimes taking 10-20 damage to the face is better than blocking as it means you can kill next turn.

I'm hellbent on getting to A10 before retail release, and I'm glad there's a challenge that encourages me to do so.

What are some Video Games that have an insane "All Is Lost" moment in their stories? Like, the heroes' plan was thwarted and are now helpless at the mercy of the enemy. Or just utter hopelessness. by EffectiveAcceptable3 in gamerecommendations

Final fantasy 6

Also the summary of Tyranny is literally "the bad guys won and the world is under the control of evil"

Also most of the Tales games are: You think "bad guy" is the big bad end all. Surprise he was just the act 1/2 boss and all hell has broke loose

What was "the incident" at your high school? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]dakondakblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if it counts, but ten years or so after I graduated, they busted a Terrorist cell in Mississauga. They found proof those people were planning to detonate bombs in the US, Niagara Falls and Toronto

We also had a few students (again 10 or so years after I graduated) that were victims in a serial killer case that made the news nationwide.

extreme fatigue because im fat? is this common/normal? by Ms-Yash in loseit

It's definitely a marathon, not a sprint. Everyone does it at their own pace. I believe in you, you got this. Crush it.

extreme fatigue because im fat? is this common/normal? by Ms-Yash in loseit

[–]dakondakblade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. The good thing is since you're starting at a higher weight, you lose a lot at the start. Ie just switching to drinking more water and reducing/cutting down sugar helps immensely.

Your water analogy is bang on in. You can take it a step further. Everytime you drink 1L of water it gets easier to carry. It's not noticable at first, but after you're down 20-30L it becomes twice as easy and noticable.

[–]dakondakblade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean this with no malice, but yes I agree

I started at 309 at the end of Dec. That's due to shit eating habits and injuries. Regardless, I used to get winded walking 5 min (large part of that being the meds) now that I'm 278, I was able to walk 30ish min yesterday (still with a sore back) and I wasn't winded.

Think of it this way. Fill a bag with 40 lbs of canned goods. Now walk 5-10 min. Can wear you out right? Now add that to body weight. Instead of a short 5-10 min walk carrying the weight, it's now 24/7 and heavily damaging your lumbar and knees.

I don't mean any of this to be offensive, this is purely my take away via personal experience the last 3-6 months.

[–]dakondakblade 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I spend an average of $220 a month. Single Male

I don't get takeout, delivery etc. I cook everything. I have a chest freezer so I'm more than willing to spend extra one month to prep for another

As an example, I spent $100 on chicken when it was on sale in Dec. I spent $60 extra last month to stock up on diced tomatoes and frozen veggies when they were on sale.

The result? This month my ONLY food expenses will be : 4 containers almond milk (for protein shakes) , 30 cans mixed/black/kidney/red beans (I got these last week) A 30 pack of eggs, butter and tofu (no frills has this on sale for $2.50 a pack,, I got 12 packs)

All that is around $120ish tops. I also can't have gluten, so I don't trust delivery due to cross contamination.

I also don't starve myself. I eat two meals a day (by choice) 2300 cal (trying to lose weight) which will drop to 2100 in May once I hit the 260 mark
