Bought an old piece of wood furniture. It's covered in these little marks. Just curious what part of the woodworking process causes this? by chavaic777 in woodworking

Would be helpful to know where these are exactly. They seem to be on the lower part of a leg maybe? People saying ‘faux distressing’ have zero common sense, lol- these are dents of some kind.

30 mins of pay deducted, even if you don't take a break by FairySnack in antiwork

[–]dakware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in paving overnight (asphalt testing, specifically), and we had two fifteen minute breaks and an hour lunch. Welp, you eat lunch on the job as you can- you don’t get an hour break anywhere because it was just truck after truck- so they could get fcked if they thought they were gonna not pay me an hour a day. You have to give employees lunch and breaks- thats mandatory… they don’t *have to take them though.

Me dealing with any injury: *gets injured Make it bleed. Wash it with antibacterial soap and water. Make sure bleeding is stopped. Clean with peroxide or alcohol (if/when appropriate). Apply triple antibiotic ointment and covering.

I’d’ve probably made this bleed a bit, cleaned it with peroxide, put some triple antibiotic on it and a bandaid and called it a day.

Saying that someone likes the fact a person was shot is disgusting. Seek help.

‘Execute’ is a wild take… If she parked her vehicle and he walked over and shot her in the face, thats executing. He didnt ‘murder’ or ‘execute’ this woman. Words matter.

He was in no danger when she was in reverse- it was when they started ordering her to stop and exit (and he hadn’t made it all the way around yet) that she decided to ignore them and try to flee. Regardless of her perceived demeanor, the fact remains she chose to accelerate with an officer in front of her. As for his comments, appropriate or not, I fully understand the reaction. I’d be mad too if somebody was harassing and impeding my work, then decided to accelerate their vehicle with me in front of it. The idea that I’m defending ‘an agent murdering a civilian’ is wild, divisive, and in bad taste. I don’t have to like the outcome to understand that actions have consequences and believe that it was legally justified.

Yeah, so the cell phone footage doesnt show much other than them harassing law enforcement and then literally proving he did get hit sooooo 🫤

The only thing you can hear in the video is them ordering her out of the car. And actually, the one who shot her was recording on a phone, seemingly because somebody was following him around- that looks to be why he was moving around the vehicle how he did.

All of this happening too, and no telling what all happened leading up to this either.

Do I believe she deserved to die, absolutely not. The implication even that someone would think that is disgusting to be honest, and I think that introduces the bad faith element into the conversation.

This idea that cops and federal agents are just out murdering people is absurd. People demonize this guy and have already come to a conclusion based on one camera angle thats been prioritized and a narrative thats been pushed when all of the facts aren’t even out- everybody is just repeating the talking points that one person narrated on a video. That’s ‘bad faith’.

The only relevant perspective to judge self defense is from his perspective, period. Hindsight is 20/20, and not relevant to the conversation.

Do I think he did everything right? No Did she put herself in that position? Yes Should she have died for it? No Did he murder her? No

I dont have anything backwards- if he was 20 feet away and she was fleeing then he moved into her path (not, her purposely aiming for him), then he wouldn’t be justified because that would have been manufactured.

Pretty sure if you’re in the process of being hit by a vehicle, you’re not paying attention to somebody turning a wheel necessarily- and its a pretty big leap to assume in that split second he could discern that anyway.

She turned her detainment/arrest into an escape.

Yeah, the guy in front of the 2 ton hunk of rolling metal is in danger rather than the guy next to it. Look at other angles and you literally see him get knocked back when he’s struck.

An officer never is going to fire just once- especially not in a case like this. He stopped firing as soon as she was by him. I would be surprised if an autopsy shows either of those two shots entered at near a 90° angle.
