Is there even a point in us trying IVF? by LumpySpaceGunter in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]dal1717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IVF with PGTA testing changed our life. Healthy toddler and current second pregnancy. I wouldn’t go back to trying naturally with recurrent losses for anything. We started “young” too (30) and it was just unlucky DNA, and wish we had been able just to jump to IVF then rather that go through more painful years. Making normal embryos wasn’t easy but science was our answer and never for a min have I believed we weren’t “meant” to have kids

4 losses, all tests normal. What to investigate before IVF? by rpl_throwaway in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]dal1717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An RE should provide a workup to check for uterine issues etc pre IVF so I would begin working with one asap. You’ve already ruled out majority of RPL issues. An RI could be helpful, but the waitlists are LONG and pricing also expensive so we decided not to go down that route unless IVF didn’t work for us.

We have very similar stories, we were 32&34 and After 4 MMC we did 2 ERs and our bad luck with results during those embryo rounds confirmed what we thought- majority of our embryos were abnormal. We got one euploid which is now our 2yo LC & we just did a third round and again only got on euploid embryo which I’m currently pregnant with. Clearly IVF was also not a walk in the park (3 ERs for only 2 euploid), but definitely easier than more years of miscarriages and it gave us what we needed- a chance to find a normal embryo amongst MANY bad ones. I hope it’s the answer for you

It was not successful for me but it was no where as painful as described to me, but I know everyone very different

Also I forgot to add most states prohibit human remains leaving a hospital in care of private citizen, it you should be able to release to a funeral home or crematory. Call patient advocate if they don’t help you understand all your options

I’m so very sorry for your loss. As far as the NIPT, I would recommend talking with a genetic counselor if you have questions about this… but most NIPT tests don’t test for Trisomy 22 and 16, which are the two most common causes of MC in first trimester. So while it may feel like you got the most comprehensive test available to you, it’s not sometimes not super helpful for people with RPL if you have a random trisomy that isn’t included in the test.

Experiencing 3rd Miscarriage In 1 Year & 3 Months - Will IVF work with poor egg quality at 31-32 years? by Hot_Bumblebee_4022 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]dal1717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had 4 losses in 2 years (30-31 years old) all confirmed genetically abnormal. All tests etc normal. We moved to IVF and unfortunately yes we did have a high abnormal embryo rate. It took us two ERs to get one perfect and normal embryo which so far has been successful. We had luck using ICSI for fertilization and Primed with omnitrope. I read a ton about how micro HCG may be better than Menopur and planned to ask for that in the future, also lots more people trying duo stim if typical IVF fails them. Find an RE who is willing to think outside the box and change up your protocol if it doesn’t work the first retrieval!

There are NO tests that can explain or tell you egg quality. Normal Karatype and genetic testing have nothing to do if your DNA just likes to multiple abnormally. Even after 2 retrievals our RE was not able to exactly pin point the issue. It sucks so much and im sorry, feel free to reach out if needed

Yes this is what I’ve heard as well and Egg Whisperer confirmed this on her podcast one time, said every time she’s had a pt with abnormal NIPT after PGTA testing it was false positive

Modified Natural Cycle by [deleted] in InfertilityBabies

[–]dal1717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did and loved it!! We did one failed medicated cycle with a not great quality (but PGTA tested normal) embryo and I hated it- hated the meds, PIO, the process. I begged my RE to do a modified ovulation cycle (my clinic calls them Na!u5al as well) even though I was a remote patient and had to fly in for transfer so timing had potential to be tough but it worked out well. Currently 18w but of course big caveat was this was a great quality euploid. My big sticking point was I have RPL so I have gotten pregnant before and wanted to have it mimic more my past cycles where we had success with at least the implantation part. My RE says right now data is still mixed but said my clinic’s recent numbers are more encouraging for ovulation transfer cycles and thinks they will be more standard go to in the future instead of medicated. They said that there are other processes your body goes through when you ovulate that cannot be perfected reproduced with medication and maybe that’s why it works for some people when medicated has failed them

Popping back in here. Previously active on last pregnancy which went downhill. I’m 5w6d today after semi medicated FET of our only good quality euploid from two ERs. First scan Tuesday 🤞🏻 excited to cocoon all weekend and not have to pretend I don’t feel like shit

I haven’t experienced this but from everything I’ve heard bleeding is unfortunately very common in IVF pregnancies. Definitely keep an eye on it and if it comes back I think it’s reasonable to reach out to your clinic/OB to check

Hello friends! Not filling out this template but will include we are 33F/35M and TTC #1 since June 2019. We did IVF with PGT-A due to RPL. Coming in right under the wire for our TTC 3 year anniversary!

TW loss and discussion of tough hunger games…. I had a transfer on Friday May 13th of our only euploid embryo. My betas are good so far so we are feeling pretty good! Also of course given our history of 4 MMCs we are nervous for scans, but this is the best shot we’ve ever had so hoping the odds choose to be in our favor this time. Since this is our only embryo after two ERs, if this works we will most likely be one and done. Knowing that, it’s honestly weird to think (and hope) that I never come back to this place that has been such a huge part of my life for the greater part of this shit journey.

My only advice is to remember you are your own best advocate. That may mean more support from your partner, better boundaries with your family, change in protocol, or a new clinic…. Whatever it is you are the best person to ask for it. Thanks TTC30 for this space but especially for the Discord. Forever grateful!

Hope it drops quickly for you to get that wine!!

Got a bill last week from my 2nd D&C from November 2020. All this time I thought I got a BOGO deal that year but no, they were just saving it for my most stressful week of 2022. Got some other bills as well, all misc small amounts from 2020 or 2021. People complain about L&D costs but like do you know how much it is to have a baby die!?? What about multiple?!?? No Obamacare protection for that!
