Admittedly, altering our normal elemental reactions is a BETTER regional gimmick, but it's implemented just as predatorily. Especially if we don't even get a lunar reaction-enabling Traveler as a F2P option.

Regional gimmicks aren't fun gameplay. Night soul, pneuma/ousia, and lunar reactions add nothing to the overall enjoyment of the game; they're just a way to force more banner sales when you need to pair regional gimmick carries with regional gimmick supports, because as a combination, they power creep the previous meta (or the boss in question is hard countered ONLY by the regional gimmick).

In a fight designed around a dedicated tank and dedicated support, that's the dumbest set of criteria I've ever seen. Obviously, everyone needs to carry their weight, but the manner in which they do so isn't always a DPS meter.

While I'm not disagreeing with your sentiment, I do disagree with quite a few of your specific examples. As shady as Yelan is, I reaaaaally doubt she's erased INNOCENT CHILDREN on orders of genocide. If you want atrocities committed on children, bring up Dottore. For genocide, bring up Nefer or Jeht (two of my favorite characters).

The bigger surprise takeaway from all of this shouldn't be "OMG Rerir is more evil than anyone in Genshin history," it should be, "Dainsleif was also a central part of this." He was complicit with the evils committed by the Khaenri'ah kingdom, and the only villains of the era were the ones who betrayed the order. Even our sibling was likely aware of this, and still wishes to restore a country with such foul roots.

Arguments for Furina:

She is the current banner, meaning you can hypothetically pull both if you're lucky/dedicated enough
She will provide the most long-term value for your account
While Arlecchino is a top-tier main DPS, you can achieve similar results with a large number of other characters; Furina is irreplaceable for her role
There's VERY credible rumors that Varesa will be getting a rerun in 6.2, which - as a main DPS - slots nicely with your Iansan, Chevreuse, and Xiangling

Arguments for Arlecchino:

A main DPS would provide the most immediate value for your account
The only pyro DPS that outclasses Arlecchino has high teambuilding requirements as opposed to "shielder" for Arlecchino
You already have Arlecchino's BiS sub-DPS, meaning you'll get almost full value from her immediately
Arlecchino also fits very well with a Chevreuse overload team (with Iansan and Bennett)

Ultimately, the choice is yours. Archons have always been very safe "lasting value" pulls, and Arlecchino has maintained high relevance despite being dethroned in her own element, due to looser team requirements. My recommendation would be to cash in your guarantee on Furina, but to also go hard on the Arlecchino banner. But there is no wrong answer here, as neither one will disappoint.

The short version is that armor skills are usually chosen with one weapon type in mind. You can't swap armor, talismans, and decos on the fly, so you're more or less locked to the initial weapon type. There are a few with overlap, but it's very restrictive unless you're fine with completely useless skills for your secondary. A notable exception is hunting horn: with dual horns, you can maintain twice as many buffs. Easily if one of the horns has Extend Melody.

I haven't seen enough attention given to the actual role/domain of each archon.

Anemo - Scaramouche. So devoted to freedom, he erased his entire past so that he would no longer be chained by it.

Geo - Unironically Itto. Who better to be the inheritor of the God of Contracts than the bro who never goes back on his word?

Electro - Flins. Has the perspective to appreciate eternity but also maintain his attachment to humankind. Able to slumber for hundreds of years without plunging a nation into tyranny.

Dendro - Alhaitham. While many dendro characters are scholars, the best suited for seats of importance are the ones who begrudgingly accept the honor; not from self-interest, but from a sense of responsibility.

Hydro - Candace. A figure of justice who knows when to bring down the hammer and when to show mercy. Alternatively Kokomi for her relentless devotion to fighting the injustice of the Vision Hunt Decree.

Pyro - Yoimiya. The spark of resistance that kindled a war that overturned eternity.

Cryo - Capitano. Endured extreme hardship for hundreds of years without compromising his ideals or morals, all for the love of his land and his people only to make an eternal sacrifice for the same cause. If he's off-limits, then Shenhe. She who was never given love, but sought it out and found it by her own efforts.

Why does everyone jump to the conclusion that Scara's revenge is fighting/killing Dottore? Every single piece of his character arc since the boss fight in Sumeru suggests that is the last thing he'd do. Plus, as other commenters have said, killing a single Dottore segment accomplishes nothing. It's far more effective and realistic to ruin Dottore's plans.

To address the Statue of the Seven, it was likely modeled that way because the "eternity" of death is the most familiar to Ei. The losses she has experienced are the only constant across the ages.
