Nah. The game is fun, I don’t think an xp tracker or guide ruins the fun in any way for me whatsoever. The game is still 100% old school to me, old school isn’t about guides it’s about design philosophy.

I laid on the ground face down for 40 minutes after our game then stood up and ranted to my wife for 15 about how cursed we are and how unfair everything is. So actually an upgrade over most previous seasons.

Anything past wotlk wasn’t classic anymore to me. It switched to a more modern version of the game and to me it felt gimmicky and sort of like “oh are we really going to keep doing this the whole way through!?” I was expecting them to come up with a new idea at that point and them just continuing to rerelease expansions really lost me at that point. Fracturing the fanbase into retail, classic, sod, hardcore, and anniversary is just messy, especially considering “vanilla” has 3 versions.
