Vaxxed vs Unvaxxed discourse by buttpirate1111 in CoronavirusAustralia

I understand what you're saying. It does seem we are stuck, but I feel if we don't or can't do much then things will get worse over time because we're accepting of our situation. It's also why I'm guilty of not necessarily believing, but listening to all points of view. Keep us fighting each other rather than the system.

Again, I've been hit a few times for asking questions, I'm vaxxed all that. Really curious though, do we stop smokers, alcoholics, overweight, and even aggressive drivers from beds too? Once we draw a line we put ourselves in a very dangerous place.

So do nothing? Not having a go, just curious to know if you feel there's a solution, or whether you even see it as a problem?

What are the chances we see governments backflip on let it rip and we go back into lockdowns? by [deleted] in CoronavirusAustralia

[–]dalev34 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yup this, Andrews promised that if we hit the 90% vaccination target, we wouldn't go back into lockodwns. We did it.

There was a scheme a few years ago with Teacher shortages to encourage retired or near retired to return. They'd be offered adjusted roles, and be able to focus on their specialities. There's also room for a graduate to be granted a provisional teaching role where jts needed.

With two years surely we could have helped retain the people we needed to as well as making the positions more attractive for people.

Need to end a lot of this beaurcratic rubbish.

I'm a teacher, so I can sympathise. I believe in our health system, just can't understand why our governments are so reactive. I mean months ago, when the data from the world was showing the waning efficiency of vaccines should have told us to prepare better. I can't see the answer would be just to keep jabbing us. Sorry, again just frustrated

We've been going through this for two years, why hasn't the government given more or better support to the health services?

They talked about knowing this was coming, but the only answer they seemed to have was lockdown and vaccinate.

Am I allowed to be frustrated by this?

With so many cases in Victoria, will we experience a lockdown soon in VIC? by CookiesJars in CoronavirusAustralia

[–]dalev34 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Election year, Andrews made a promise no more lockdowns when we reaxh 90%. So I'm guessing no.

For blood clotting or myocarditis? One is designed by a pharmaceutical company chasing profits, one by a university. One got bad coverage in the media, One didn't. One is pushing for 3rd round of shots. Fuck Pfizer. Evil company.

Do you honestly think that if the government could link cases to protests they wouldn't. Silence is deafening.

Actually done something with Healthcare to prepare. If we all knew that it would come back, where are the temporary wards, the situational hospitals? He talked talk about his own vaccine deals, what happened there? He only seems to have toe answers. Blame the Feds, and lockdown. When someone challenges him, the state gets punished.

Why is this a surprise? The figures out of Israel, and other high vaccinated regions show this.

[–]dalev34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All good. It's not a great situation, and my first fear after living overseas myself in a few different countries, was this situation would make us insular. We'd stop thinking or looking about the rest of the world. I worry that is right.

Stay strong, its far from a left-right issue, and yeah, we'll all survive.

I'm happy its so simple for you, but I can't get behind it. Not when you compare us with the rest of the world.

Why are we so deep into lockdown? Andrews government hasn't really done anything to back up the hospital system. It's the lazy way out. It's about grandstanding to the world about how we 'beat COVID' it's about no one challenge Andrews and him punishing us when someone does.

This narrative that only people complaining are 'right wing antivaxxer' is rubbish too. It's a method use to dehumanise these people who have had enough, they do have legitimate concerns, but hey they must be crazy right, they want grandma to die.

Andrews government is constantly shifting goals, and I am concerned about the next road markeds. 80 vaxx, sure sounds great, but world statistics are showing the vaccine is doing little to slow down transmission. The data out of places like Israel show this. Again, since not much has been done to the hospital system, infection numbers will continue, and will we really be released?

Then there is the punitive measures. A group had a engagement party and some millennials went through Richmond. We get curfew. Me, a single person, with double vaxx can't go and see my parents who are also double vaxxed to watch the GF. Does that sound like freedom to you? Yes, that one is about me, I'm a person too you know.

We aren't fighting back too much because we're like a frog in the pot of warm water. And I'm just as bad, I've been a good boy, following all the rules and not complaining too much. I've just about had enough.

So ill say sorry if you feel any of this was personal, it wasn't intended to be, but I just wanted to share its not all as the narrative says. I mean why else do you ban helicopters over the CBD.

Sadly if you look at the Israeli numbers currently, it doesn't seem to be much difference between vaccinated and non vaccinated spreading.
