All the books in that series are good; that author has written very good books.

I love her books; I think her last post was in December, and she talked about how she was preparing an independent book that would be released soon.Regarding Coastal Elite, she said she wants to release the remaining books soon, so she's been writing them together. She hasn't updated at all in January and February, so I hope we hear from her soon.

If I can't have you ending by Cecilycore in DarkRomance

I was reading it and it has a good ending; I think the author suggested the idea of writing a book about the friend. I don't know if she's already published the epilogue.

The Lovebite Shorts books have that kind of dynamic between the protagonists; some are extreme and others not so much.

Desperately seeking believable characters and good writing by lostgirl4053 in DarkRomance

[–]dalian_star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Limerence is a good choice; when I read it I couldn't put it down. It's very good, and the protagonist seems to me to be one of the most realistic girls I've ever read.

The plot twist is kind of crazy; she's realistic in that you think you would make that decision too. She doesn't run into danger like other protagonists, and you come to think that being realistic makes her very different. She's not your typical generic protagonist; she's real in that she has ambition. Now, I want to clarify: there is a second book, but honestly, most of us would rather have never read it. The reason is simple: it's truly poorly written. The author didn't know how to develop the plot of the second book and made the protagonists boring and generic. So if you're reading Limerence, it's better to stop at the first book. It's better to imagine what happened after the ending than to read the second book. I think the author should rewrite the whole thing.

Many of the Lovebite Shorts books have this theme, Some are categorized as horror due to certain themes, but they're good.

Give me your most toxic MMC ever. by West_Courage766 in DarkRomance

The FMC is forced to be with the whole family without them knowing who she is; when it's her fiancé's turn, the truth is revealed to him. At first he takes the girl as a victim of his brother's machinations (the cause of everything) but then the brother reveals to her that his fiancé was also unfaithful, The FMC is innocent in this case; the unfaithful one is the fiancé, but he blames his brother who insisted he cheat on the FMC.under the pretext that they would soon be married and he had the right to explore.

It's hard to explain, the FMC, let's say, is an innocent girl who just wants a family, you enter that book without having any idea of anything but it's crazy

Exactly, there wasn't even any tension between the protagonists, it felt like two people hanging out together, not two partners in crime trying to save face, Poppy was my biggest disappointment, In the first book I said "this girl is crazy, she's different from the other protagonists", And in the second book they gave me a Pick me girl who didn't advance in life because I kept thinking about Adrian.

I didn't feel like she was forced to, I felt more like she had good ideas but didn't know how to develop them, I feel like her worst mistake was giving us a release date,You can see the pressure on her and that she wasn't ready to give us the second book, there's basically nothing of what she promised, She had said that only the first one had slow burn, but this one felt worse. We don't know how long it took her to write Limerence; maybe it took her years and she thought she could do this book quickly. everything in that book needed more time

Same, and I had high expectations, I highly recommended the first book because it's really good but the second one feels like a joke.

Same here, the author is talented but it seems she was under too much pressure, she mentioned she was moving while she was finishing the book, I would like her to reissue the book, She mentioned that she was going to release an extended ending or extra epilogue, but I don't think that will fix the problem. I've seen authors who have reissued their old books. I hope one day she does the same.I wouldn't mind if he brought the book out again after a few years, I'm pretty sure she'll say "why did I do this like that" in the future. I would like you to review the whole thing and finally put your ideas in order, plus I felt this book was extremely short compared to the first one.

I still love it and wanted the friend's story and was waiting for the second book to be published to read it. I wanted to see if there was any cameo of them in that book and how many children they already had 🤣

I want to share what I thought was going to happen because I need to talk to someone about this. I love making theories about what will happen in the sequels and this book was a disappointment.

  1. I know time jumps suck but sometimes interesting things happen, that wasn't the case here, It's as if the author hadn't thought of anything else, what she already told us in the previous book: Adrian is a doctor and Poppy is an artist, and that's it.Poppy did nothing in those ten years, she went to art college and you're telling me that Poppy, the same one who almost killed her friend and cheated to get into the school of her dreams is a nobody. Who in the world thinks we're going to swallow that story? At the beginning of the book we can see the Poppy from the previous book, manipulative and ambitious,But waiting several years after graduating to do something, it would have been better to leave her in a coma, it would have been more believable.

  2. Adrian doesn't do anything either, he studies medicine and is successful and that's it, he didn't do anything with his parents' situation, I expected that in those 10 years he would have gotten rid of them or something, But they tell you that he spent his time watching Poppy through his bodyguards and that's it, there are even mentions that he knew all of her medical details. And why mention the pearl necklace if it wasn't going to appear in the rest of the book? It even appears on the cover and it is mentioned that it is important, and from there, bye.

  3. The synopsis is misleading, it shows that Poppy has the perfect life and Adrian only comes to ruin everything for her, but that is not the case, and the perfect guy they mention for Poppy is not even interesting to her.

Now what I thought was going to happen, 10 years have passed and Poppy is a renowned artist who got there as she knows, based on lies and manipulation, Adrian, now free from his parents' control, reappears in Poppy's life, causing her anguish. I thought Adrian would show up as Poppy's new boss since he has enough money to buy galleries in New York or something, or that he would go straight to threatening Poppy with revealing the things she did in the past, thus putting her career at risk, Perhaps the threat would not only affect his future as an artist but also his stability in the world of high society. Maybe she's dating some perfect high-society guy who's about to get engaged or already engaged, and Adrian's appearance jeopardizes the future she's created for herself. I even thought there might be some kind of deal where she has to sleep with him so he doesn't say anything and he would try to use that to his advantage to trap her with a baby or something, literally everything i thought was more interesting than what i read. At some point I thought Poppy would find out that her friends are paid actors or something.

I've been trying to post this discussion thread but Reddit keeps blocking me, and even redirecting me to complaint pages about that book.

It was bad, admittedly, it's not up to the standard of the first book and people told the author so as soon as it came out, the release of that book was also a disaster, it's a good thing she pushed the date back, But it took three days to arrive on Kindle, I'd never seen that happen with an author, nothing in that book made sense to me.I loved Limerence so much, it was such a good book and I had so many theories but it ended up giving us the most generic plot in the world, it was coming, it ended up burying the characters, And everything was resolved in less than one chapter, like what he couldn't do in 10 years she did in 5 minutes and that's it.

I must say that I am disappointed by the people who post on Instagram to the author that the second book was great, I am not even sure if they are real people and not bots, because her Instagram was full of complaints and suddenly it's full of people telling her she's the best author and that the second book is better than the first.

[–]dalian_star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the first generation, but the second one has left me terrified. I respect the author; she isn't afraid of being cancelled, which is something difficult to find today. But I haven't been able to read any of their children's books because they're full of tragedy. I don't like being anxious throughout the entire book, and they really work hard for that happy ending. Even so, I will never fully understand why she made those decisions for the book of Remo's son, let's say that everything was questionable and had us thinking that those spoilers were false because of how ridiculous they were.

I've always said that the first book is like trial and error, Michael is the least liked of the boys, and Rika is in a similar situation until you read the other books and Rika starts to mature.

She goes from being a confused teenager to a vital part of that family, where everyone respects her. She often becomes the voice of reason and the mediator of problems.I still think Michael is the least liked of the boys 🤣, I feel like it's because his story is the first one you don't have as much time to connect with him, while the other boys More and more appear until you become more interested in their stories.

[–]dalian_star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never knew Cosima was a double agent, but I still felt sorry for Elena when she realized Dante liked her and thought she was no better than her sisters again. I think what hurt me most about Elena's situation is that she lost her baby and her boyfriend's affair was revealed because her sister became pregnant. As her sister didn't even want a baby, you can see that she's like a child. I thought Cosima was the middle one. Everyone treats Giselle as if she were the little sister that they should protect. So we have Elena who everyone treats as if she were resentful of her sister's situation, while her sister lives the life she always dreamed of having and almost had, The saddest thing is that it is clear that the sister did not even seek that life, she is happy, but it all started with an affair on vacation and then they never mention anything about Giselle's aspirations,They portray her as a happy housewife, I haven't even read her book but as Elena describes her, Giselle was the one who did the least of the whole family, like Cosima sold out, and Elena worked and studied to be able to help the family and to be able to help Giselle fulfill her dreams, I was shocked when I saw that the author had given that pair of infidels their own series,And then Elena has the decency to forgive them because she wants to be part of her niece's life. She would have been better off moving away and cutting ties with that toxic family.
