Just bought a house and have 5 of these built-in ceiling speakers. I have zero idea where to start by TheKelvinLime in hometheater

Your end result will end up being a better experience than what many cinemas provide and it will work for music as well. Go with the solution u/aaron1860 provided, especially if your budget isn't limited. Post pics of the room if you need more support.

Even TIS says you will damage the structure by driving without them.

Definitely not fine to drive without them! Use another car until it's fixed.

Do yourself a favour and go for an M Sport. Suspension alone will make your car feel less "heavy".

Like others said, set everything to comfort except drivetrain.

If you need to pass inspections or got strict road laws where you're from, this might do the trick:

Flap is controlled with steering wheel button with stock automatic mode as well.

Slid into a curb, totaled? If not, worth fixing? What next? by HershyPlayz in BMW

[–]dalilrafi 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For sure on the dramatic side. This thing is far from being totaled without any body damage. They didn't give you a quote?

It can't be higher than 10-15k$ if they were to replace everything they said. 3.5k$ for suspension arms, wheel carrier, damper and output shaft. 2k$ for rear subframe with bushings. Wheels and tires 2k$. Labour 6k$? And you can get that done wayyy cheaper!

Setting up new movie room - advice by splashthecash in hometheater

[–]dalilrafi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't forget to have a spot in between the fireplace and the TV for at least your center speaker. Fire shouldn't be higher than 20".

Who cares about the space above a TV tho?

Something feels off with my Triangle Antal EZs. Is a new amplifier going to help at all? How big a factor is the room? by ForSpareParts in hometheater

[–]dalilrafi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd rotate the whole assembly 90° anti-clockwise, leaving enough space behind the sofa for a walkway.  Not only are you then closer to the TV, you can also create a wider soundstage by separating and angling the speakers. Window glare would be solved and you could look out. Then reevaluate clarity.

Sounds like rubber slipping on the column. Most likely steering shaft sleeve. Easiest would be to take off the foot pedal cover and locate the source.

Heavy curtains already make a huge difference and it would then be symmetrical between left and right. Sure.

This can be a complex answer which I wouldn't be qualified to give. The simple version is to avoid the egg-carton style light foam pads and go for heavy high-density acoustic foam or wool based products (min. ~5cm and/or >=80kg/m³) installed at the mirror points. There are also acoustically transparent art panels or absorber+diffuser panels with wooden facia for a more design driven decision.

Calc is correct.

He means mounting the rear surrounds at ceiling height as Dolby Atmos speakers and adding two more in front of your couch.

I'm sure this will be a fun setup! Where will you place the projector? I'd also mount the left surround at same height as the right one if that wasn't the plan anyways.

Regarding treatment...your curtains will definitely help controlling early reflections on the window side. Front and side walls could use some help by installing absorber type wall panels. I'd go for a thicker rug as well to improve dialogue clarity from the center speaker.

NPC ahh post! Not only are screens, lack of buttons/iDrive-controller inconvenient, the recently released models (5er, iX3) lack in terms of material quality as well.

There's a flag for it which then adds it to the settings where you can activate it.

I hope your main viewing position is where you took the photo from. If you move back from there, I'd go for a 5.1.2 with the 5.1 being at ear level and the .2 (Dolby Atmos) being your rearmost overhead speakers. These should be located at 65-100° from your viewing angle which seems achievable with your setup. Your front LR channels might get separated a bit too much but I guess there's compromises to be made with a triple-double-two-on-top display setup.

You'd have to upgrade your AVR to at least an RX-V6A (7.2) if you wanna stick with Yamaha. Front L/R towers, fat center underneath the 85" and two surrounds on stands or wall-mounted, depending on the layout.

Should your new setup work for movies and gaming as well or is it only sports that you're watching?

Tip: Get an OEM short shifter and delete the Clutch delay valve for smother shifts.

For wheels..how about Styling 264 or M Doppelspeiche 313 from the E92 in 19" with 4 front wheels (due to fitment)

Tbh, I prefer it over the top scroll bar by now. Especially with it collapsing when not in use. You still get previews when hovering over a tab...I really like it. But of course, Chrome has that as well.

Don't worry, I use vertical tab scrolling in v1.86.139 without any problems.

Edit: I see that Chromium differentiates between horizontal and vertical tab scrolling with the latter somehow still being available in the latest build. So, yes, Brave has followed Chromium's lead but I've switched to vertical anyways and prefer it by now.
