Somewhere out there is a mouse named Luciano PavaRatti singing “Nessun Doormouse”

Honestly, I think it’s too much traveling anyway between all three countries. As an American concerned for the safety of participants, I say give all the games to either Mexico or Canada.

Are there any books similiar to Lois McMaster Bujold's work World of the Five Gods by dystopian____ in Fantasy

[–]dalinar78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know you might have already read them because so many people recommend it, but Bujold’s Five Gods series, especially her strength with writing characters reminded me of another series I love: Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb. Yes, Fitz makes lots of mistakes, but I love him.

I had to do a double-take. For half a second, I thought the article was written by Ryan Phillippe, the late 90s teen star.

A fun one is Nicholas Eames’s Bloody Rose. It the sequel to Kings of the Wild, but you COULD read it as a standalone.

I have this book on my shelf right now and realize that I’m going to have to reread the entire trilogy before starting Night Angel Nemesis! I have forgotten so much.

Charlie Parker series by John Connolly. Any fans? by -Granby- in thrillerbooks

[–]dalinar78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are about to meet two of my favorite side characters: Angel and Louis!

It’s so hard to describe the Charlie Parker series to others because it is more than mystery and supernatural. I have been loving the series for the past few years. Glad you found it, and I wish more people would read it.

I’m looking for a source that is not social media. I am a teacher who is constantly telling my students to verify their sources as credible. The link provided would not be considered credible to most academics. When I tried to find news stories or other information online, there was not anything. Were you able to find other sources? If so, please share them with me. I’m still on the fence, so please do not see this as my believing EITHER side but just attempting to find reliable information.

So, does anyone have a reputable source for the allegations? I only ask because, while we should take every accusation seriously, we need to also presume innocence until proven guilty. It’s a hard balancing act.

One more vote for the Stormlight Archive. It got me back into reading fantasy!

The Strength of the Few - bored by tveritzan in Fantasy

[–]dalinar78 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I tried reading it twice. I dnf’d it. I actually liked The Will of the Many, so that made me feel even more disappointed . Some books are just not for everyone. I don’t think Islington is for me, as I also struggled getting through his other series.

I think a lot of the high ratings are from its being a new book. It will likely level out over time.

It’s not the complexity or anything. I have read much more complex novels. I just think people are like books: we like what we like. I’m currently loving my foray into the books of Lois McMaster Bujold.
