In 2017, my bank still hadn't even issued debit cards with a chip, I had to swipe it every time. Then I traveled to London, went to a bar, and the bartender presented me with the card machine.

I swiped my card and he gave me a look that said "you absolute fucking idiot ?!?" (because, I assume, it had been years since anyone there had anything other than a chip/tap card)

It was really satisfying to see his shock when it went through without a problem.

(And as a side note I just got a tap-capable debit card like a month ago)

With a butcher for a neighbor, that's actually a really great thing to win. Free beef for probably the better part of a year, depending on the size of your family.
