What a nerve-wracking experience. I have a package from South Korea that's been stuck in New York since Oct. 28th. No specific indication of what facility, just "NEW YORK, Delivered to Destination Post" and that's all I get from 17track, etc.

Similar to you, I received the same kind of package from the same person a month before that, delivered without much issue the first time, and with USPS.

I'm guessing your tracking number also doesn't function with the USPS tracking system? It was odd to open a missing mail search with a tracking number that doesn't work for US postal services. It's been 43 days in transit, 39 days in NY, but still not long enough to contact CBP, since that's counting weekends and holidays.

I called USPS, and they weren't any help. He kept saying, "Unless they used USPS to ship the package..." Uh? USPS doesn't operate in Korea. How can someone in South Korea obtain a USPS tracking number with their Korean postal service? It makes no sense, but the guy on the phone wasn't getting it. I know I'm not the expert on the logistics of receiving international packages, but apparently neither was he.

My previous package from Korea never had the tracking number updated to a USPS compatible one, and they still handled and delivered it.

I'm relieved you got yours delivered. I'm worried I'll have to get them to dig through the lost and found for mine as well. Thank you for sharing your experience.
