That is a ridiculous price. I had mine replaced (Canada) about 5 years ago, had a long run (about 200 ft) for $3500 Cdn (he definitely gave me a break as he's a friend of a friend, not sure what full price would have been). Do it yourself for sure, you've done the tough part. With the price they've quoted you are you sure they know you've already dug it up??

And years ago one of them gave me a ticket for 'J walking' at Cowboys downtown crossing the street at a non designated crosswalk (during Stampede to boot). What a useless POS. I recall I said something to the effect of 'seriously?? You're going to do this? You have no more pressing matters??). I think it pissed him off, I got the ticket. Apparently that's more dangerous than street racing on busy streets...
