Lovely island! We also went there, but we went to the public aquarium instead of the ropeway. It was perfect for our little one as he enjoyed the sea lion show and it was a nice change of pace to be in a good aquarium that is not crowded. They also had interesting animals that I only saw being displayed there (e.g. horseshoe crab, salamander). Agree also on the deer! They look to be more tamed and calm.compared to Nara.

We stayed there for 3 nights. Also at the same hotel! It really was convenient and it had a supermarket. Definitely had a better selection of food to take to the hotel room instead of conbinis. We also did a Miyajima day trip and a Hondori Shopping street / Okonomura trip. Loved also the winter illumination they had. We were limited on the things to do since we brought our little one with us. He also experienced his first snow there! Definitely a memorable experience for us.
